Senior Principal Engineering Technologist
Lead design and implementation of engineered systems and solutions PoC’s that leverage leading-edge and emerging technologies from Dell Technologies and partners
Lead Research, design, testing, and implementation of converged technologies and solutions with a focus on emerging technologies and standards
Provide subject matter expertise on enterprise storage, compute and networking to help translate product requirements into engineered system designs
Responsible for charting the overall Systems / Platform strategy for Advanced Engineering while collaborating heavily with NGCI Core Engineering teams and System Architects
Participate in troubleshooting, capacity planning and analysis, performance analysis activities
Bachelor’s degree in computer science or other technology-related field or an equivalent number of years of experience
5+ Years’ experience Dell EMC Storage Engineering VMAX, Unity, Isilon
Dell EMC Data Protection experience - Data Domain, Avamar, Networker, Recoverpoint, VPLEX
Storage Area Networking experience Connectrix MDS, Brocade
Experience with Server Technology such as Dell PowerEdge, HP Bladecenter, CiscoUCS
Experience with VMware vCenter, Virtual Networking (SDN) and vRealize
Experience with Microsoft Windows Server, Linux (Red Hat, Ubuntu, KVM)
Obsession with Systems scalability and performance under high loads
Hands-on operational experience in a high-volume or critical production service environments - distributed systems, capacity planning, continuous deployment
DevOps approach to storage automation
Scripting skills (Python, PowerShell, GO, Ansible, Chef, Puppet)
Experience with Open Stack and MS Azure Stack
Experience building and operating highly available and scalable infrastructure solutions
Experience working in distributed, remote teams across multiple time zones a plus
