Description PRINCIPLE PURPOSE OF JOB
The purpose of this position is to provide technology leadership to the scrum team by guiding, mentoring and motivating the team members and by acting as a custodian of technology practices within the team(s) for a particular product / product line.
The person in this position is expected to be responsible for sprint deliverables. The person in this position is involved in all aspects of the programming lifecycle from design to deployment and everything in between.
Identifying and forecasting any technical risks associated with the delivery and providing mitigation plan. She / he should be an excellent programmer who always has room to improve, is smart, motivated, team oriented and loves to create code, participates actively in software design discussions, writes code that is both functional and elegant by following appropriate design patterns and principles.
Design and develop innovative solutions that are maintainable and scalable.
Diagnose performance bottlenecks and implement optimizations.
Works well under pressure and takes proper decisions.
Identifies technology backlogs and provides visibility to the product team.
Collaborate with other tech leads and architects to implement enterprise vision and to perform system integrations.
Performs PoCs and spikes as and when necessary.
Challenges status quo to encourage innovation.
Troubleshoots and provides solutions for complex problems.
Determines and pursues courses of action necessary to obtain desired results.
She / he is responsible to create / assign / track the product / module for delivery and also provides technical guidance for completing the work in order to meet the quality objectives and delivery requirements.
Contributes to the productivity of the organization through the completion of projects associated with portfolio objectives.
Communicates technical and operational issues to management / stakeholders. May also conduct briefings and participate in meetings with internal and external partners or collaborators
Influences design and development of new software products or major enhancements to existing software for clients and business partners.
Ensure project deliverables are accomplished on time and within budget.
Ensure that all technology standards are adhered to while developing systems.
Work collaboratively with business partners to define and ensure the completeness and accuracy of system / technical requirements.
Pursues training and development opportunities and also strives continuously to build knowledge and skills by sharing expertise with others.

May be a primary point of contact with vendors and consultants engaged in supporting the work activities of the group.

RELEVANT EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS
Masters or Bachelors in Engineering in IT / Electronics / Communication / Computer Science / Information Systems.
10+ years of experience in Java1.8 development with minimum 3+ years of experience in application design activities.
Strong experience with Java1.8, J2EE, Spring Framework, and web services (REST, SOAP), JSP
o ORM (hibernate / iBatis, JPA)
o Unit testing framework such as Junit, TestNG etc. and mocking frameworks like Mockito / Powermock etc.,
o Object-Oriented design, patterns, algorithms, data structures
o JBoss application server
o XML, JAXB, XSLT
Exposure to Agile / TDD / BDD based development.
Exposure to Continues Integration, deployment & static code analysis Jenkins, Sonar
Hands-on experience in an of the RDBMS Sybase / Oracle / MS SQL Server, SQL / PLSQL
Exposure to business process workflow analysis such as JBPM, Mendix etc. experience preferred.
Good to have exposure to
o Architectural principles like Microservices and SOA, Cloud Computing (AWS)
o Bigdata / Analytics tools such as Hadoop, spark, Akka, Scala etc.
o EAI / ETL tools such as Abinitio, Informatica etc.,
Organizational skills with ability to be flexible and work with minimal direction
Ability to work well independently and in a team environment.
Troubleshoot bottlenecks and propose changes to fix them.
