As a Corporate Development Professional you will be responsible for managing, and executing some of Razorpays most high impact inorganic activities.
This includes managing relationships and negotiations for transactions with end to end ownership both externally and internally.
You will need to work collaboratively with the founders and leadership at Razorpay Based on the vision, identify inorganic growth levers for Razorpay Identify high synergy sectors / customer segments / product solutions Build in-depth thesis for selected sectors Engage with early stage founders and experts to validate thesis Build a strategy for Investments / Acquisitions / partnerships for each sector Build market intelligence to stay ahead of market developments Build a strong deal flow by building the Razorpay Corp Dev brand Partner with ecosystem players to increase deal flow (founders, Funds, incubators, accelerators, investment banks, networks) Design programs where Razorpay can power the growth of Indias fastest growing startups through its business finance offerings (innovation labs) Organise events to engage startups and build a community for founders Create a Razorpay ecosystem which every early stage tech startup in India can utilise for their business finances (payments, banking, lending) Extensive outreach to relevant seed / early / growth stage startup founders Collaborate with Founders, CXOs and leadership to evaluate opportunities, analyse the opportunity and present recommendations based on synergistic fit along with deal structure Drive all stages of the investment process including origination, valuation, due diligence, transaction, execution and integration Post investment, work closely with the investee companies in ensuring value creation and realization for Razorpay Required Skills Strong & structured problem solving skills in an ambiguous and unstructured environment Excellent oral and written skills to communicate complex issues and influence others internally and externally Strong interpersonal skills and ability to gain respect of founders / CXOs / leadership Ability to build and maintain a network of relationships which facilitate deal flow High risk taking appetite Self-starter who can excel in a fast-paced and fluid environment.
Passion for difficult challenges and fuzzy problem statements Understanding of the technology landscape and a strong network within the Indian startup ecosystem, including entrepreneurs and investors Good understanding of overall investment process including term sheets, diligence and definitive documentation Act as a trusted advisor to senior leaders on deal strategy and all execution related aspects.
Required Experience At least 3 years of experience in early stage VC funds / Investment networks / Accelerators / Corp Dev team / Corporate innovation teams Experience in developing, leading, negotiating and executing corporate and / or business transactions Bachelor's degree Good to have but not mandatory Fintech industry experience would be preferred MBA would be preferred
