The Technical Architect role is the leadtechnologist for a particular product or platform. Third party products withhigh out of box implementation most likely will have their own technicalarchitecture roles, so company Technical Architects mainly manage internalassets.

Perform deliverable reviews and manage measurement of deliverablequality

  • Specification of technologies, application architectures and datastructures as a basis for application change for internal assets
  • Producing quality, secure, scalable, high-performing, and resilientdesigns for new or improved services
  • Lead the systems analysts, developers, and testers in sympathetic changeto the applications
  • Monitor change and perform reviews as needed
  • For internal assets, support Product Managers to develop and maintainthe Product Roadmap
  • Define and maintain development standards such as system and datadesign, coding, etc.
  • Maintain a capacity plan with historical performance metrics, a futureforecast, and a capacity model to ensure services and infrastructure deliverperformance and growth targets in a cost effective and proactive manner
  • Manage architecture exceptions for the application, includingidentifying, documenting, taking through exception approval process, andremediation where and when possible
  • Monitor application services to ensure performance consistently meetsnon-functional requirements (response time, security, etc.)
  • Work with the Product Manager in defining, analyzing, planning,measuring and improving product availability and continuity
  • Leads the DevOps team and developers in targeted use of DevOps for theirapplication platform assets.
  • A Technical Architectnormally reports to a Product Manager, but may also report to an ApplicationDelivery Manager.

  • Uphold technical integrity of internal assets at thelogical and physical level, ensuring designs and changes done based on a strongarchitectural foundation.
  • Experience leading and mentoring development and architectureprofessionals
  • Lead the systems analysts and developers in sympathetictechnical change to the product
  • Assist to identify proactive maintenance work
  • Develop, own andpublish the product technical architecture and design documentation
  • Identify technical resources required to deliver theservice and maintain plans for the short-, mid-, and long-term to supportbusiness cases for technical investments (upgrades, etc.)
  • Translates the high level designs into the technicalspecifications to facilitate efficient and effective development and unittesting
  • Must be able to set priorities and multi-task
  • Technical Expertise / Certifications :

  • Computer Science Degree with advanced t skills in Duck Creek (mandatory) and .net
  • Advanced skills in : developing tools, frameworks and processes intendedto maximize software quality and minimize time-to-delivery
  • Ability to mentor and guide developers on software architecture
  • Solid understanding of contemporary systems design
  • Expert-level experience with more than one of key technologies
  • May require expertise in commercial applications (ex : PeopleSoft, MSDynamics)
