The Visual Design Manager manages a team of designers who execute design projects (Web banner, Fire Device and template / tailored landing page) and guides them with customer centric creative direction while adhering to all performance metrics.
As a Visual Design Manager, he / she should have the ability to deep dive into incoming requests and escalations and prioritize work for his / her team.
Should be fluent in communicating with internal teams and stakeholders and keep them informed of the work produced by the team.
Demonstrates understanding of performance and leadership principles and effectively applies them to hiring decisions.
Manage a team of designers who perform medium to high-complexity, cohesive, and innovative design deliverables that are customer-
focused, simple and intuitive with deep dive skills. Customer experience is always at the forefront.
Have data driven approach, own and meet people management / operational goals and key metrics for the organization.
Perform audits on processes to obtain data on teams' efficiency, alignment on productivity, and quality metrics.
Provide regular coaching and feedback to direct reports to help grow functional skills and leadership capability, with support from senior managers.
Manage end-to-end team operations, handle design processes and related tools proactively engaging manager and stakeholders.
Identify improvements to processes and contribute to root cause analysis, with a focus on elimination of waste, defect reduction, quality enhancement.
Assist in implementation of new design processes to support business initiatives.
Initiate collaboration with peers, partners and stakeholders to ensure high-quality, cohesive deliverables through the entire design process.
Regularly communicate to internal / external stakeholders with a data driven approach / design rationale, and resolve issues with minimal guidance.
Foresee capacity issues and work with the business to plan and set expectations and track key metrics to meet goals.
Identify resource need for the team and participate in recruiting efforts.
Bachelor s degree, minimum of 7+ of industry experience in visual design or related creative discipline. With prior experience in people management and leading design teams.
Proficiency in design principles (Typography, Composition, Scale, and Color Theory amongst other) and working knowledge of how those principles work together.
Proficiency in design tools (e.g. Adobe Creative Suite, etc.) and knowledge of various platforms (desktop and mobile) required for their specific role.
Management of a team who executes designs that follow brand style guidelines and take it beyond the scope or brief. Understands designs that are cohesive, on-
brand and incorporate best practices keeping customers in mind, makes necessary trade-offs if needed and provides design recommendations based on this.
Define, recognize and develop talent and create an inspiring creative work environment and culture. Actively brings out the best in designers, developing both designers and team dynamics.
Aptitude for analyzing metrics accurately, building models around data to provide solutions and / or improvement to processes.
Experience in Salesforce and Adobe Creative Suite.
