About the Job :
The Texturing and Lighting artist is responsible for following the look development for the production, and create high quality textures and lighting for all assets, environments and characters of the production.
The artist collaborates heavily with the CG team to achieve the artistic style and level needed for the production.
The artist ensures that all shots are complete, optimized and organised so that they are ready for use in production.
Skills Required :
Training in computer graphics, 3D animation or graphic design
Experience in texturing 3D models, knowledge of modeling rigs
Ability to consistently draw inspiration from real world references
Knowledge of video game genres and latest trends in gaming
Solid understanding of visual language - texture, color, dimension, scale, perspective, shade, composition depth of field, proportion, lighting, spatial awareness, etc
Strong illustration, digital painting and conceptual skills
File organization and time management skills
Team player and ability to work independently
Desire to learn new technologies and design techniques
Roles & Responsibilities :
Develop and refine textures during the production process
Collaborate with animators and modelers on the best textures for each object and character
Create a diverse and compelling range of textures
Maintain a high level of design and photo-realism throughout
Curate a consistent look of all the elements
Establish direct and reflected lighting, shadows, and compositing for each assigned shot.
Ensure quality of final frames and cleanliness of setups.
Contribute innovative and original ideas towards optimizing lighting and look development for the production.
The lighting artist ensure that all shots are complete, lighting rigs are optimized and organised so that they are ready for use in production.
Assist in the documentation and communication of technical and process guidelines for texturing and lighting creation and implementation.
