R&D Architect : (8 to 10 years)

Technical skills :

  • Mandatory Technical Skills : Python, Java, Design Patterns, and Databases.
  • Willing to work on Python development area with strong Object Oriented programming.
  • Telecom domain or cloud experience first preference, can be look for alternate if someone good.
  • Domain skills : Telecommunication domain know how, Specifically in SON (Self Organizing Networks).
  • Design for Performance / Testing / Security / Maintenance
  • Main Responsibilities :

  • Effective analysis of the features in cooperation with the feature owners, that can help the team do better planning.
  • can negotiate the content with the feature owner where required.
  • Have focus on the overall architecture and design (including functional and non-functional aspects) in addition to active contribution for the implementation and debugging.
  • Design discussions are a must in the team and architect is accountable for the same.
  • Considerations like performance, security, testability need to be taken care from the beginning.
  • Be accountable for the quality of the deliverables and adherence to practices and processes (adherence to development standards, reviews, testing etc)
  • All code / tests must be reviewed.
  • Follow scrum practices and facilitate for the team where required
  • Think beyond the own team if a solution or problem is applicable for other teams. Solutions translating to reusable code and problems driven to closure with discussion and communication with relevant stakeholders (Work towards a common goal)
  • Other Responsibilities :

  • Walk the talk Lead by example - Live the right values (work ethics and culture) and promote the same within the team (and across teams / sites)
  • Mentoring and coaching the team on technical and non-technical skills
  • Coach the team in identifying the impediments and help the team to make decisions.
  • Challenge the status quo and continuously look for ways of improvement and driving them to closure
  • Is the team fully occupied?
  • Are the efforts being spent wisely and efficiently?
  • Watch the velocity and how can the team improve?
  • What actions need to be driven to enable the team to move fast without compromising on the quality?
  • Are the tasks granular enough so that team is work efficiently and able to see the progress?
  • Promote teamwork and high performance culture by inspiring people to do their best and respecting others ideas / opinions
  • Live up to the commitments deliver what is promised
  • Mediate through conflict and also be open to give and receive feedback
