Consultant / Senior Professional, S&IT

Orchestration Service Operations Coordinator

Why this role matters

We are looking for a strong and experienced individual who is self-motivated so as to perform ASM Operations Lead / Co-ordinator role for one of the most critical IT orchestration & fulfilment system in Openreach stack.

Candidate’s involvement will play an important role to drive business continuity & ensuring various pre agreed SLAs are met, thus preserving brand image of the organisation.

Candidate is supposed to coordinate and drive, while working with vendor teams across various locations, resolution of day to day operational and functional issues in production around above stated application.

What you'll be doing

  • Assist Managers in day-to-day coordination and management of system operational activities to ensure pre agreed SLAs are met.
  • Monitor, control and manage system operations to meet customer expectations and Openreach goals.

    Liaise between customer and management to ensure smooth operations delivery.

    Coordinate and manage day to day tasks to ensure operations are handled within allotted budget and timelines.

    Manage escalations if any at their level so that they don’t percolate further up in hierarchy and customer issues are also resolved on priority.

    Ensure compliance with company standards and procedures.

    Build and maintain strong relationship with various stakeholders within BT TSO and Openreach through regular meetings and communications.

    Evaluate current operational performance and provide strategic plan for improvements.

    Provide direction and guidance to internal teams to achieve performance targets.

    Identify problems in operations process and resolve them in quickly and timely manner.

    Follow standard operating procedures for efficient operations.

    Maintain clear and accurate operations documents / procedures for reference purposes.

  • Possess excellent Telecom domain knowledge, to understand Openreach IT stack
  • Possess typically demonstrable previous software engineering or related experience.
  • Strong Java / J2EE, Oracle, Database skills, UI design skills, JS skills, Linux scripting and troubleshooting skills.
  • Provide technical and functional guidance and direction to team members
  • Possess excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Experience in working with geographically dispersed teams
  • Experience working in complex projects managing Service Operations
  • Self-starter who can lead the way by setting up prototypes for vendor technical teams to follow
  • Contribute to the definition of the team processes and standards
  • In depth understanding of Telecom product offering
  • Possess BE / BTech / MTech Computer Science or related field
  • Possess at least 8 years of experience
  • Strong Java / J2EE, Oracle, Database skills, UI design skills, JS skills, Linux scripting and troubleshooting skills
