CFR is responsible for managing the net credit and fraud loss provisions for American Express while enabling profitable growth in close collaboration with business teams.

The group manages multiple critical functions for the company including fraud and credit underwriting strategies for credit products, ongoing exposure management of existing customers, deploying credit & fraud risk models, and developing policies pertaining to credit and collections.

The incumbent Director will be responsible CBO strategy for GCP portfolio and also CBO capabilities team. The objective for the team is to drive profitable business growth by reducing the risk of high balance credit losses on GCP side.

The candidate will lead 3 band 35 teams creating strategies working with various market and tech partners to reduce CBO losses and also lead cutting edge capability and strategy design and implementation for CBO team

As a strategically critical function the position offers terrific opportunities to do impactful work and garner significant exposure to senior leadership.

Key responsibilities include :

  • Manage CBO losses for GCP portfolio across different geographies.
  • Minimize Customer Complaints by ensuring high accuracy of the strategies.
  • Address Emerging Fraud Trends & Monitor Key Metrics to Take Corrective Actions
  • Partner with business teams as well as technology teams to develop and develop appropriate controls accordingly.
  • Conceptualize and implement new variables which would help in reducing prospective CBO losses.
  • Graduate with 8+ years of experience in business management or analytics domain with at least 5+ years in leading a team
  • Ability to drive results, effective communication and partnership skills are critical to this role
  • Strong analytical skills to measure & analyze effectiveness of key talent management strategies
  • Excellent project and time management skills
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, including ability to interact with and present to senior most leaders in the organization
  • Flexibility and ability to remain calm under pressure- should be able to handle multiple assignments, under tight deadlines, and a sometimes-ambiguous environment
  • Ability to influence without authority- be able to lead and manage people who do not have a direct reporting relationship
