Senior Software Development Manager

Job Description

Would you like to be one of the leaders in managing a team that can solve business challenges through innovative technology in Tax space?

This team's charter is to deliver scalable, robust and secure services for Tax customers. You will be building the products, tools and services that enable our Tax customers to operate efficiently and reduce tech debt.

The Role : We are looking for a talented and driven Senior SDM for org who will contribute to the Tax technology vision in Hyderabad, strategy and roadmap for a very interesting initiative in Amazon.

You will lead a team of talented SDMs, SDEs and SDETs and work in a fast-paced organization, solving complex and challenging problems that will enable us to scale quickly to support multiple users.

As a Senior Development manager, you will identify, hire and build a world-class team of Development Engineers to define, drive and execute on this vision.

You will initiate processes that allow the team to collaborate with partner teams in Amazon with a high degree of efficiency.

You will develop a team of highly motivated and talented individuals that can collaborate with Program Managers, Product Managers and SDEs across the company on high impact initiatives.

You will design, build and manage solutions that will delight our customers.

As a Senior SDM, you should possess the ability to deliver, think big, make sound decisions, and build highly-scalable and high-

performance systems for the long term. You will be a leader that develops technology teams to scale for our customers. In addition, you should be able to lead by example, earn the trust of the team and stakeholders, and balance development prioritization while participating in cross-

team efforts including architecture planning.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in Computer Science or a related engineering field
  • 7+ years of experience building and leading technology teams that design and deliver large distributed systems.
  • 5+ years of hands-on development experience in C / C++ / Java or similar programming languages
  • 5+ years of experience in building / operating distributed / scalable systems in multi-threaded, high-volume transaction applications, asynchronous architectures, in a 24 / 7 environment.
  • 4+ years of experience as a manager of managers while leading multiple engineering teams
  • Proficiency in system-level design, and experience with web services and service oriented architectures; Candidates must think at scale
  • Ability to manage multiple competing priorities simultaneously, and to influence organizations of both technical and non-technical members.
  • Exceptional and effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Proven ability to hire world class talent and foster an environment of innovation.
  • PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • MBA or advanced degree in Computer Science or Engineering.
  • Multidisciplinary experience overseeing software development, program / project management and QA
  • Experience operating business-critical systems requiring high availability, high scaling, low latency
  • Experience with developing software for managing large scale Transportation and Logistics Operations and Operations Research Science
  • Exhibits excellent judgment
  • Has relentlessly high standards
