Business Unit : Content Development Team, Education Services

Location : Bangalore

Collaborating with the Curriculum Development Manager in the Education Services organization, this person will be primarily responsible for the creation of instructor-led and alternative-media technical courseware for users of Juniper Networks products.

Courses are crafted to teach the installation, configuration, integration, optimization, troubleshooting, and maintenance of high-end networking products and solutions.

Guided by company and industry trends, courses also increasingly include focus on automation, virtualization, and general DevOps functions.

The Curriculum Developer position is one that works at times both independently and with a team of developers. As well, the position requires the ability to work as part of a larger team, including specialists in production, eLearning, delivery, certification, and other functions.

The Curriculum Developer is expected to build high-quality customer courseware including the development of sophisticated, interactive labs.

The ideal candidate will be a self-starter, able to work on long-term projects that include many landmark deadlines. This person will be able to seek out and develop key relationships within the company and will have an aptitude for resolving subjects / topics that are of key importance to our customers.

Responsibilities :

  • Write new and update existing courseware, including student guide material and labs. Build labs that provide hands-on learning opportunities for the students, and that complements the material instructed in the student guides.
  • Build scopes of work that clearly outline project details for course updates.
  • Build design documents and curriculum plans with multi-functional resources to identify training gaps.
  • Work in a team setting to build, modify, and implement lab topologies as needed for various curricula.
  • Act as an instructor for the delivery of beta training courses prior to their general release as well as the delivery of instructor training and occasional other delivery events.
  • Build eLearning units in various formats including short videos and web-based training, among others.
  • Support the Education Services lab team, internal and partner delivery teams, and others for any existing or new content, including participation in a rotation of on-call support staff.
  • Desired skills and experience :

  • Technical education and courseware development experience (or comparable experience in an industry related to internetworking, automation, or virtualization).
  • Excellent project management skills and the ability to work multi-functionally.
  • Outstanding written and spoken communication ability in English.
  • Experience and proven ability using presentation and desktop publishing software, preferably with PowerPoint and Frame-Maker eLearning software skill a plus.
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience working in a network, DevOps, or NetOps environment.
  • Understanding of the related applications used for network management, optimization, automation, and provisioning.
  • Understanding of the TCP / IP protocol suite, including OSPF, BGP, RIP, IS-IS, MPLS, and other networking protocols, networking security, routing, and switching.
  • Familiarity with the Junos OS, including experience with MX, EX, or SRX devices, as well as a solid understanding of the concepts of IP networking.
  • Experience in open-source containers like Kubernetes, Docker.
  • Experience and demonstrated skills using one or more of the following automation tools Puppet, Chef, or NETCONF.
  • Experience and demonstrable skills using one or more of the following scripting languages : Python, Ruby, Perl, or Java.
  • Experience working with public cloud environments such as AWS, GCP, and Azure.
  • Experience with Unix or Linux operating systems including networking and scripting.
  • Proven knowledge of virtualization technologies including experience with VMware, KVM, or Xen environments.
