Responsibilities
MaxLinear is seeking a Analog / Mixed-Signal / RF Design Manager to join our team. You will be leading and mentoring a team of highly capable and motivated mixed-signal designers with proven product experience.
The team is responsible for ADCs and DACs on some of the fastest, highest performance communications systems ICs in the world in optical, wireless, and home networks.
These chips combine a wide range of engineering expertise in a single design and require close collaboration and creative problem-solving across traditional boundaries.
Define architectures based on high-level specifications
Build, mentor and lead a team of 4-5 designers on design, implementation, and verification of RF and mixed-signal circuits on an SOC
Work closely with Communication Systems, Digital ASIC and RF Systems to take designs from product definition through tape-out, characterization, and release to high-volume production
Qualifications
Strong knowledge of Analog / Mixed-signal circuits, with ability to drive architecture and topology choices ADCs, DACs, Filters,Serdes,PLLs, PAs, microwave circuits, LNAs, Mixers Base-band amplifiers, VGAs, op-amp based filters, regulatorsAbility to drive chip level specifications for matching, signal path, spurious analysis, frequency planning
You must have familiarity with wireless or wireline communication specifications and derivation of block-level requirements from high-level specifications
Solid understanding of CMOS process and device physics
Understanding of semiconductor packaging and production testing
Hands-on experience testing your own designs in the lab and define production test requirements
Excellent communication skills and ability to excel and provide technical leadership
BE / PhD / ME / MS in Electrical Engineering with at least 15 years of experience in RF / Analog / Mixed-signal design
At least 2 years of experience managing a team of 2-3 RF / Analog / Mixed-signal designers
