To provide data science and quantitative analytical support for CMO&PS by ensuring timely delivery of high quality reports to meet regulatory requirements, enable medical safety analysis and monitor safety profile of Novartis products.
Build capabilities to leverage the Science of data to enhance safety surveillance, case management and delivery of management metrics.
The team lead is responsible for managing projects and innovation of Data science deliverables and ensures optimum utilization of resources in consultation with the Head Data Science and Analytics.
Additionally, supervises Data scientists and managing performance and career development. Ensure all deliverables are met according to timelines, operational procedures and quality standards.
Interact with domain experts to understand the data and the business challenges and design solutions to the challenges using data.
Ability to translate business questions into analytical problems and build solutions using visulaisation techniques, machine learning, statistical modeling and ensure it is robust, scalable solution is developed.
Independently manage small to medium projects.
Ability to provide understandable and actionable business intelligence for key stakeholders
Working with the internal process experts and key stakeholders in providing analysis and interpretation of Safety / PV data.
Is responsible in creation of new data sciences capabilities for the business by envision-ing and executing strategies that will influence improvement of the business’s perfor-
mance by enabling informed decision making.
Collaborate with partners in IT and GDD functions to improve the availability of data (near-real time data flows) and data quality as required for high quality, innovative, analytical / technical solutions.
Bring in efficiency with innovative solutions; effective usage of new technologies and concepts; developing new analysis opportunities by integrating existing and new data sources.
Lead the design and oversees the development of predictive and data-driven solutions (for ex : SafetyReporting tool) and services to ensure drug, device, trial and patient level benefit / risk information is available proactively for safety analysis, signal detection and risk management.
Manage timely delivery of high quality PV& Medical safety listing, analysis and data and ensure compliance with health authority regulations.
Supports and represents Data Science team in regulatory inspections / audits, as and when required.
Build a deep talent bench by driving top-level talent acquisition, succession planning and development of associates across who are working to their full potential and to build a strong talent pipeline for Novartis.
Act as deputy of Head Data Science and Analytics / Head Data Analytics / Sr. Manager Data science and Analytics as and when needed.
PHD / Masters / Bachelor’s Degree in Economics, Econometrics, Statistics, Mathematics, Operations Research, Engineering (Biotech, Computer Science, Information Technology), Pharmaceutical, Life Science English
Expertise in atleast 1 of : Statistical modelling, Machine learning(like Regression (Linear / Logit / Gamma), Clustering (K-
Means / Modes / Hier), Decision Trees, Text Mining and Natural Language Processing, Stochastic models, Bayesian Models, Markov Chains, Monte Carlo Simulations, Non-
linear Time Series, Dynamic Programming and Optimization techniques Design of Experiments, Neural Networks, Statistical Inference, Collaborative Filtering, Feature Engineering, etc), Big data or Technology solution development, along with Pharmacovigilance / Clinical operations domain expertice.
Ability to translate technical concepts for non-technical users in the areas of clinical databases (both internal and external).
