Position Description Overview

The incumbent will be involved in the writing of documentation for internal associates as well as external FI clients. The documentation is aligned with current code releases and forms a key part of our end-to-end issuer solution offering.

In addition, documentation deliverables, the successful candidate will have the opportunity to lead and delivery Instructional Design for our solutions. Duties and Responsibilities

  • Analyze the inputs from source documents, subject matter experts, and source code to write topic-based online help and chapter-based reference documentation
  • Create accurate, clear, and concise content using correct grammar and spelling
  • Ensure deliverables are complete and meet the documentation team’s standards
  • Communicate and collaborate with technical writers, editors, and various interdepartmental teams working on the project
  • Maintain tracking documents and ensure assignments are completed with the review process
  • Combine writing with Instructional Design principles in order to interrelate documentation and training
  • Job Responsibilities

  • Is responsible for the creation and maintenance of documentation such as instructional guides, reference manuals, job aids such as systems and technical design templates, handbooks, reports, proposals, and brochures.
  • Depending on the work environment, such documents may include various media, including written and video. May include maintenance of documentation library and oversight of special projects.

    Performs additional job duties as required.

    Is involved in the design and writing of moderately technical documentation.

  • Excellent command of the English language, including grammar, spelling, and punctuation
  • Excellent technical writing skills; quick learner with an ability to obtain information from various sources
  • Attention to detail; suggests new ideas to improve processes / practices that address client needs
  • Partners well with others to achieve common goals and listens to understand others’ points of view
  • Willingness to seek assistance when needed to understand content or standards
  • Own assigned deliverables from start to finish
  • Excellent organizational skills with proven ability to write quality documentation in short software development cycles
  • Demonstrates an enthusiasm for, and interest in, computer technology and financial software Skills
  • Proficiency in Adobe FrameMaker, MadCap Flare, Adobe Acrobat, Microsoft Office and Confluence
  • Strong skills in documenting user interfaces and Mainframe screens
  • Ability to learn new technologies, software, and concepts quicklyEducation and Knowledge Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Technical Writing, English, or related subject required
  • Proven track record in professional technical writing
  • Experience with VisionPLUS preferred, alternatively experience with financial software
  • Experience of Instructional Design highly desirable.
  • Job Requirements

  • 1+ years of related technical writing experience. Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience and / or Certifications.
  • Has basic knowledge of information systems elements (hardware, software, and network) and their application to written or video documentation.

    Has an understanding of the supported business function(s) and the corresponding technical strategies, benefits, risks, and costs that impact the business.
