The Supplier Engagement Manager works in collaboration with the Procurement teams, business stakeholders and suppliers to create additional value post-contract through managing and delivering continuous improvement initiatives, innovation activities and other enhancements with global tier 1 suppliers that that create value for the business.
The role completes defined improvement projects that will deliver tangible, measurable enhancements to supplier performance.
Supplier Engagement manager will typically spends 70-80% of time focusing on the global tier 1 suppliers as defined through the segmentation approach and 20-30% helping to performance manage global tier 2 suppliers in terms of providing best practice, tools and templates to support the business.
Your responsibilities :
Responsible for resolving service issues, mediating disputes and escalating conflicts related to existing local, regional and global strategic partnerships.
Responsible for building the Networking Framework, developing evaluation criteria / targets, profiling countries / business patterns, establishing customised country pathways and monitoring Procurement Excellence against jointly approved targets.
Responsible for promoting shared rules of engagement and collaborative values and behaviours between sourcing organisations and their internal / external stakeholders.
Responsible for centralising, documenting and maintaining leading edge technologies / products & services knowledge base for assigned categories.
Responsible for centralising, documenting and maintaining supplier information and procurement market events across local, regional and global sourcing organisations.
Responsible for the standardization of regulatory documentation and legal templates, terms & conditions across local, regional and global sourcing organisations.
Responsible for ensuring effective management of the supplier relationships for all Global Tier 1 suppliers.
Responsible for the governance and communicating work plans and activities of the tier 1 suppliers.
Responsible for coordinating best-practice sharing across local, regional and global sourcing organisations, monitoring for trends in service delivery to proactively drive improvement opportunities, and providing innovation insight.
Responsible for providing supplier management training, coaching and expertise, leading to improvement and transformation activities in collaboration with business and supplier stakeholders.
Responsible for defining and harmonizing Key Value Metrics and spend / savings reporting guidelines across local, regional and global sourcing organisations.
Responsible for monitoring performance against Key Value Metrics and business-oriented KPIs in the Procurement Balance Scorecard for tier 1 suppliers.
Responsible for building business cases and initiating supplier innovation projects and quantifying benefits in partnership with the Global Category Leads and introducing innovation tools and techniques.
Support definition and implementation of Procurement tools and processes.
Managing data analysis and reporting.
Responsible to ensure the right balance between business needs and Novartis’ strategy.
What you’ll bring to the role :
University / Advanced degree is required.
Master’s Degree / other advanced degree in Supplier Management is preferred. Excellent spoken and written English
5-10 years of relevant business experience (industry specific experience).
10 years of experience in Procurement or other related experience within the Pharmaceutical industry, preferably in category management, supplier management, or related area, with a focus in the IT domain.
Strong project management or other leadership experience.
