To become a truly Data Driven Organisation, there is a critical requirement to have access to the relevant digital data (consumer and marketing related) to drive our analysis and insights.
At the heart of this, we have a need to gain control over the data that we buy, particularly from our digital suppliers and platform vendors.
The Digital Data & Analytics Lead will act as the bridge between the huge amounts of data yet to be harnessed within Diageo and the data to be shared from our global partners and most importantly our customers.
This role will be part of the broader Marketing and Digital COE being set up within our Global Data & Analytics Organization.
Team will look at opportunities to create more value from digital data using analysis, insights and analytics to serve the business interests of larger marketing organization.
This is achieved through :
Applying rigour around data design and architecture to ensure we build one version of the truth.
Setting and maintaining the standards around data and information
Creation of reports / analysis to support effective decision making in the digital space
Overall, this role may have limited direct budget responsibility
Must still be budget conscious and compliant, seek opportunities to simplify and expand capacity, and support the annual budgeting process.
Must manage and set-up suppliers and BAU operations
Must plan and manage project budgets
The role will interface with governance directors, process owners, business stakeholders and service delivery teams - internal and external, global and local.
These relationships will encompass people based in a variety of geographies, multiple cultures, languages and time zones.
Senior Stakeholder engagement of D&A LT and Business directors.
Engagement across all processes, markets and vendors.
Deep experience in external data management including digital and syndicated data.
Strong people management skills are required to motivate and lead a team spanning multiple geographies, time zones and cultures, including external company cultures.
Identify continuous improvement initiatives and provide support and input to improvement projects with respect to data
To create a robust and sustainable data environment for digital / consumer data, by creating an effective digital data strategy and delivery capability, and influencing the organization to support this agenda.
Define the data strategy for the acquisition of digital data (and creation of a single view of the consumer)
Lead / support external data acquisition supplier negotiations, SLA set-up, ongoing service management.
Ensure the required environment exists to support GDS&G objectives, e.g. policies, standards, capability.
Effectively manage their team and create / sustain effective relationships (including in market data capability) to ensure delivery of domain and GDS&G objectives
Development of reports / analysis / insights to support marketing organization
Identification of opportunities to drive improved efficiency / effectiveness (e.g. data lake / DMP interconnectivity, CRM data onboarding to DMP, etc)
Manage strategic media partner relationships to deliver the marketing data roadmap
Provide leadership, coaching and direction to the digital data team
Graduate or Post-Graduate, with minimum of 10 years experience in the digital / consumer domain.
Experience within a complex international matrixed organization (ideally in CPG / FMCG)
5+ years of working with digital and non-digital marketing data, and leveraging ad-tech / insight platforms such as DCM, Sprinklr, Google Analytics, DMP, etc.
5+ years’ experience of managing business intelligence platforms such as Tableau, Microstrategy, GoodData, Qlik, etc.
Experience in a regulated data environment a plus.
Expert in methods of digital data collection and application
Deep understanding of data management disciplines and related business benefits
Experience of data services contract management, service management and SLAs
Data design experience working within a global function, including at least one major project as lead data designer.
Able to provide strong, visible leadership for data governance to geographically diverse virtual teams
Strong relationship builder and stakeholder manager in global environment
Structured attitude to change - able to assess impact across processes and business units
Passionate about making an impact through data driven insights
Experience working alongside marketers, developers, users, stakeholders and consumers
Inability to work through others
