Engineer will have a working knowledge of SIP and knowledge about traditional voice technology including the ability to monitor, configure, administer and troubleshoot endpoints from various third parties affecting the service.
A strong background in SRE Concepts and data mining log data at scale. Collaboration with the network team and coordination of various vendors is critical to this role.
Role and Responsibilities :
Develop a strong understanding of our business to enable effective test planning and execution.
Develop and deploy methodologies for testing Telecommunications performance and providing Telecommunications performance statistics and reports.
Build software and systems to manage platform infrastructure and applications
Assess and administer all equipment, hardware, and software upgrades.
Measure and optimize system performance, developing solutions to synthetize traffic profiles
Establish best practices and policies for installing, configuring, maintaining, and troubleshooting of hardware and software.
Maintenance of component inventory and related documentation.
Administer user accounts, permissions, and access rights.
Interact with cross-functional teams to understand the product requirements.
Plan, develop, execute and maintain automation test scripts, utilities, data sets leveraging commercial and / or open-source tools.
Work closely within a dynamic team to quickly adapt to requirements with understanding of stakeholders, product and solution.
Ensures solutions are well engineered, operable, maintainable, and delivered on schedule.
Be open and able to adapt to new development and testing technologies.
Self-motivated, having good team spirit, with the drive to solve problems and expand knowledge.
Skills and Expertise :
2-4 Years of (relevant) experience in a product development or Telecom or equivalent work environment
Experience with SRE concepts and development solutions to deliver insights from massive scale data in real time
Experience with developing synthetic traffic for protocols and applications using tools such as SIPP, TSUNG, JMeter, FIO, Sysbench and TSHark
Strong troubleshooting abilities (including packet traces, utilizing various monitoring tools and other SIP specific troubleshooting tools)
Understanding handling test tools like IRIS, Spectra, Rally, JIRA, Wireshark and load generators.
Experience with all areas of testing, including unit, integration, regression, and load / performance testing.
Knowledge of the software development lifecycle (SDLC) Agile SCRUM and test-driven development experience is a plus
Creative problem-solving skills and excellent troubleshooting / debugging skills
Strong Written and Verbal Communication. Solid work ethic, customer focus, team player, with a Can Do attitude.
