Introduction :

Manage risks and controls across the business and ensure compliance to Barclays standards and policies in line with enterprise risk management framework

What will you be doing?

  • Embedding the Enterprise Risk Management Framework (ERMF) to ensure appropriate risk management coverage, building effective partnerships with colleagues across the 1st, 2nd and 3rd lines of defence, aligning priorities to anticipate and ensure future potential issues are avoided
  • Driving compliance with Group policies, regulatory requirements, and social expectations whilst embedding conduct considerations in daily activities.
  • Identify, evaluate, report and escalate risks in line with Barclays risk and control frameworks, utilising relevant tools and analytical techniques.
  • Review activities to remediate control gaps and assess whether the risk has been fully mitigated and whether the implemented controls are sustainable.
  • Provide guidance to ensure compliance with Barclays Group and Technology Policies, Standards, frameworks and procedures across Business Units, Functions and Shared Services.
  • Report the results of testing activities to Senior Stakeholders across Business Units, Functions and Shared Services.
  • Influence and support the implementation of the Technology CCO strategy.
  • Meet the needs of key internal and external risk processes, reporting schedules, stakeholders and regulatory authorities in delivering assurance activities.
  • What we’re looking for :

    The ideal candidate will have a successful and extensive track record working internally in a financial services institution with strong evidence of career progression and high achievement.

    In addition, it is preferred that candidates have a strong academic record.

    Language skills : The right candidate will have strong relationship building skills, and excellent communication skills are an essential requirement.

    Excellent command of the English language with strong written and verbal communication skills is crucial.

    Personal attributes : The successful candidate will be an action-orientated, proactive individual and a structured thinker with the ability to multi-task in a high pressure environment.

    The ideal candidate will demonstrate self-motivation, logical thinking, influencing and presentation skills and an ability to communicate with ease and credibility.

    Collegiate with a strong team approach and ability to network and build relationships across teams will be very important

  • Experience in a Risk and / or Control function
