As part of an enterprise-focused organization, Data Modeler is responsible for establishing and maintaining an enterprise data model that describes how data is defined, modeled, processed, stored, and utilized.
Often working with a team of data architects, data modelers are subject matter experts engaged in translating business requirements into logical, and physical data models.
Documenting and communicating the data requirements necessary to build and integrate data models for business processes.
Perform data rationalization and system integration (by understanding the source and target data) and build the data mapping.
Collaborating with data stewards, system analysts, and governance facilitators Data modeler should define metadata, comply with data element standards and guidelines ensuring high data quality.
Data Modeler should be developing the linkages (traceability) to the enterprise data logical data models for application-specific operational / analytical physical data models.
Candidates should possess a Bachelor of Engineering or equivalent with at least 8 years of experience in this field.Strong Logical, physical Data Modelling / Database design skills Experience in data modeling using ER / Studio is preferredWorking knowledge in one or more SQL RDBMS, HANA, Hadoop, and EDW is requiredExperience in deploying and supporting enterprise data capabilities to business units that integrate with IT capabilities Strong analytical skills with knowledge of common business processesProven track record of leveraging approved enterprise capabilities following approved enterprise architecture guidanceEnthusiastic learner and customer orientated and focus on quality.
Excellent in problem-solving and time management skills.Need strong interpersonal communication and presentation skills, since they interact with Data Stewards, developers, business users, DBA's, and infrastructure resources.
