About the Team :

You will be part of the Support Team whose mission is to maintain customer applications, successfully deliver enhancements, updates, and upgrades to customers, proactively monitor production environments and take actions to improve the overall user experience and the business value provided to our customers.

This is an exciting opportunity for a RUN Solutions Team Lead at Ivalua. You will proactively define and implement action plans to guarantee the integrity of our customer databases, will troubleshoot & resolve database issues, will collaboratively work with our RD and IT groups to identify and internally socialize best practices and will manage customer communication for root cause analysis and action plans.

The role necessitates interactions with end users / clients to understand issues with user experience and application behavior and then debugging the same by analyzing the application and the associated database.

Other responsibilities include working with other developers in optimizing in-application SQL statements as necessary and establishing best practices.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Implement efficient solutions to enhance stability, reliability and scalability of the application.
  • Client interactions with a diverse domain of end users to understand and evaluate pain points on application usage and design and implement creative solutions to resolve them.
  • Work very closely with individual Solutions Team members to review and prioritize their task assignments.
  • Help brainstorm solutions both technically as well as strategically.
  • Consolidate all the ongoing performance issues and effectively contribute towards scalability of the product.
  • Coordinate between different teams in the department whenever needed (IT / R&D etc.)
  • Troubleshoot database issues and work closely with DBAs to come up with a scalable solution.
  • Assist and mentor engineers in validating and testing SQL scripts, write optimized in-application SQL statements and establish database best practices
  • Support the load test team in measuring and optimizing database performance during peak loads.
  • Analyze and review the codebase of the application to identify and troubleshoot potential areas of improvement.
  • Collaborate with the R&D team in implementing performance optimizations in the application system.
  • Assist IT in guaranteeing system integrity and robustness as well as fulfillment of client SLA by monitoring application activity and carrying out extensive log analysis for finding areas of performance improvement for the application.
  • Skills You Need to Succeed :

  • Expertise in understanding, debugging and troubleshooting code
  • Comfortable in reviewing and analyzing code.
  • Analyze application codebase to identify potential problem areas.
  • Propose feasible solutions and integrate them back to the codebase.
  • Exposure and good familiarity in SQL (MS SQL Server preferred) and its variation among popular databases :
  • Good knowledge of database internals read and troubleshoot execution plans, analyze query operators, understanding of indexes
  • Participate in team efforts for ensuring performance, security, availability and scalability of databases to support system demand and concurrent access.
  • Familiarity with SQL Profiler and other database analysis tools.
  • Understanding of concepts around handling large volumes of data and associated database concepts like table partitioning, memory optimized tables, indexes etc.
  • Understanding of ETLs and reports / dashboards.
  • You will go through Ivalua’s certification process to learn the Product.
  • Preferred Education :

  • Bachelor (BS) degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a closely related field or foreign equivalent
