1) Job Purpose

To Drive, plan, organize the shared services operations to ensure 24*7*365 days operations for :

  • Storage On demand
  • Enterprise Storage Management
  • Backup & restore services as part of BMCSL Data Center services for Primary & Disaster Recovery Site to ensure SLA’s with business units and service efficiency targets are met.
  • To work on continual improvement of services by studying & adopting new technologies
  • To perform various POC’s and Pilot projects as per business demand for rolling out additional variants and new devices in Storage and backup domain.
  • To publish guidelines, best practices and assessment for the ABG group companies.

  • 3) Principal Accountabilities

    Supporting Actions

    A Operations Management

    To drive Enterprise Storage & Backup Operations in order to ensure defined SLA’s are met for Shared Services for Backup and Storage Service

  • Enterprise Storage Management
  • Backup and Restore Services
  • Business continuity using Replication Services
  • Direct and implement the processes for execution of day to day operations to maintain the desired Service Levels
  • 100% adherence of the processes by operations team as per growing business needs and anticipate operational technical issues
  • Implement new operational processes through tools
  • Guide Support Staff for Operations & technical support
  • Monitoring the processes on regular basis for effectively adherence to the SLA.
  • Review periodically the performance against defined standards
  • Implement fixtures on the areas of improvement
  • Maintain High level of service management for Data Protection Services
  • Build Excellence in following areasOperations & technical support (Storage, Backup)Optimized basic storage and backup administrationPerformance monitoring
  • Monitor the service conditions of a data protection services to ensure they are optimum for servers, storages and internal cloud setup
  • Responsible for capacity planning of data protection services.
  • Resolve operational, infrastructure or hardware incidents in a data protection services
  • B Provisioning

    To implement new services for Group in Enterprise Storage & Backup domain to meet & Private and Public Cloud environments as per the business requirement in

  • Enterprise Storage Management
  • Backup and Restore Services
  • Business continuity using Replication Services
  • Study and evaluate appropriate products, Technologies. Define the SOW & SLA’s to suit business needs by co-ordinating with appropriate Partners.
  • Conduct a feasibility study with respect to functionality v / s requirement
  • To get the buy-in from management & businesses to implement the proposed solution
  • Rollout the new services.
  • Implement Storage Service Offering
  • Responsible for new services in existing datacentres
  • Design plans as well as lead initiatives for the optimization related to data protection layer
  • Lead new projects implementation for cloud setup, servers, storage
  • C Process Adherence

    To ensure adherence of defined ITIL / ISO 27001 / 20000 processes framework in order to maintain the compliance & ensure governance.

  • Implement & Maintain the ISO Standards / Processes in areas of various Datacentre services.
  • To drive and facilitate businesses for various Datacenter services audit to explore vulnerabilities and threats, if any and ensure to fill the gaps of the audit in Storage and Backup domain
  • Define and Implement Change, Configuration and Release processes
  • D Evaluation of New Technology.

    To evaluate new Technologies in Backup and Storage domain for effective management and roll out new services.

  • Study and evaluate new technologies for Backup, Storage & cloud technologies by co-ordinating with appropriate OEM’s and considering business needs.
  • Conduct a technical feasibility study with respect to functionality v / s requirement.
  • Prepare & Submit the techno-commercial comparison
  • To get the buy-in from management / businesses to implement the proposed solution.
  • Implement approved solutions and define new services deliverables, sow & SLA’s for rolling out new services.
  • E Solution Design

    To design the technical solution for internal ABG customers for their hosting requirements so as to enable them to meet their business demands in shortest possible timeframe and minimum cost

  • Study the various solutions as per requirements
  • Discuss and evaluate the options to be implemented with partners
  • To get the buy-in from management to implement the proposed solution
  • Implement approved solutions
  • F Customer Review

    Perform regular reviews with customers to identify business requirement and service improvement feedback.

  • Conduct service reviews with customers at regular intervals.
  • Advise businesses with regards to service requirements and promote available services
  • Develop and implement service improvement plans
