Cerence is looking for an Engineering Leader who is a Technologist and Systems architect with rich experience in building infrastructure and device products.

Experience of working closely with & delivering successful solutions for automotive Tier-1 OEMs, Silicon vendors and Service providers is required

Cerence is currently working in Hybrid Model .

Cerence is g rowing and expanding its Connected Applications & Devices solutions managed by a Cloud. Cerence is looking for an Engineering Leader who is a Technologist and Systems architect with rich experience in building infrastructure and device products.

Experience of working closely with & delivering successful solutions for automotive Tier-1 OEMs, Silicon vendors and Service providers is required.

You will be leading the Engineering of the Apps & Devices (A&D BU) at Cerence. You will work with senior executives across the company focusing on Business Development, Ecosystem Management, and Requirements Management.

Your colleagues and partners in this team are spread across China, Germany, India, and North America . You may also manage a team of Product Manager in specific domains.

Define and own an AI-enabled Automotive Cloud Portfolio for A&D BU that enables the BU to grow and exceed its business targets.

Lead solution architecture of large, complex End to End solutions comprising multiple system components in the automotive and mobility delivery space.

Responsible for defining End to End architecture, functional specification of individual components, 3rd party component evaluation, interface specification between components and test and integration strategy.

Lead grounds-up development of variety of mobile applications covering areas of core applications, messaging, social aggregation, multimedia, location and cloud applications on multiple platforms such as but not limited to J2ME, Android, Windows etc.

Work closely with designers in verifying complex user interactions and performance validations.

Lead system architecture of highly available, scalable and high-performing carrier grade telecom infrastructure products as well as Cloud Solutions.

Carries good knowledge of Telecom protocols such as GSM / 4G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, TCP / IP. Experience & knowledge of VoIP protocols such as MGCP, H.

248, SIP, SIGTRAN and Datacom protocols such as L2 switching protocols, DNS, DHCP is highly desirable.

Good experience of working in multi-organization, multi-location programs. Familiar with collaboration models applicable in such distributed programs.

Responsible for technical oversight, alignment of implementation to architecture and key integration activities across the development cycle of the product or solution being developed.

Active contributor to engineering process evolution. Conversant with different execution models like Agile and waterfall execution models.

Responsible for driving technology roadmap and large technical proposals

Contribution to standardization bodies like IETF, IEEE, JCP, ISC is highly desirable

Deliver a strong ROI of platform investments.

Support overall RFQ Engagements

Help drive decision that impact maximum reuse of Platform technologies. Work closely with Finance Controlling and Engineering groups to define and control the overall budget on platform and product investments for the BU.

Work closely with marketing teams to help craft an effective marketing pitch for the platforms and support showcasing Platform solutions at different venues

Directly responsible for Technical Definition of the Product Solutions and Program management (for internal reference platform development), and RFQ support teams.

Understand all aspects of the product lifecycle from cradle to grave, ensuring the program milestones happen on time, technologies launch successfully, and software evolution strategies are in place to maximize ROI.

Relevant education in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or related field.

20+ years software background in multinational company.

15+ years management experience in different roles.

Experiences on cross-site, cross-country software development management.

Solid technical background.

Experience to set up a new organization from scratch.

Results oriented working style, and analytical and problem-solving skills.

Strong leadership, people management and communication skills.

Project and component management experiences.

Implementation Skills following quality processes such as SAFe, Agile, LEAN, CMMI.

Change management experiences.

Deep understanding on Cloud software application, Audio AI solution, DSP, wireless communication, connectivity, and embedded system

Experience leading a significant part of a technology and business pursuit team.

Must be a strategic technology leader and show track record of managing large, complex projects with multiple stakeholders.

Ability to think beyond the technology itself and will understand key business drivers that ensure technology investment will provide substantial value or improvements to customers.

Fluent in English is a must. Mandarin and / or Cantonese as a secondary language is an added advantage

Be willing to travel up to 50% of the time globally for customer meetings.
