  • We are looking for a Lead Member of Technical Staff to join our Epocrates division. You are a developer who is well versed in back end technologies and savy about building highly efficient large-scale applications;
  • design and build solutions while mentoring and coaching developers. But enough about us, let’s talk about you.

    You will work with other teams to ensure a coherent, forward looking product features. You will be partnering with senior business and product leadership to do great things.

    Ultimately your work will focus on improving corporate performance, product performance and clinical outcomes.

    The Team : Epocrates is the no. #1 medical app for clinical decision support systems in the United States having close to a million users around the globe.

    Most of the doctors trust the data provided in Epocrates and rely on it for prescribing the right treatment. The team in Bangalore is responsible for end to end flow of the Epocrates content including content ingestion, ETL, Search and recommendation and the app development.

    Job Responsibilities

    Produce accurate, unambiguous technical design specifications to the appropriate detail

    Deliver customer value in the form of high quality software components and services in adherence with policies on Security, performance, longevity and Integration testing

    Estimate the size of development tasks in story points with the goal of 80% accuracy; begin to challenge others during estimation

    Understand and follow coding conventions, with design and architecture best practices

    Write, debug, and deploy code to production; deliver timely fixes

    Adhere to DOD (story definition of done) as part of the sprint, including unit tests, functional testing, code reviews, no regressions, bug fixes, documentation and adhere to best coding practices

    Perform peer code reviews in order to ensure quality standards

    Typical Qualifications

    8 12 years of experience in an engineering role

    Experience in an Agile environment preferred

    Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent

    Significant software engineering skills and computer science experience

    Knowledge of modern programming languages such as : Java, Spring, Hibernate,

    RESTful API

    Knowledge of Unix / Linux, SQL and various other DB technologies

    Experience with deploying and maintaining services in public cloud like AWS is an added


    Knowledge of microservices architecture, messaging system (RabbitMQ / Kafka), docker is good to have

    Semantic network technologies like GraphDB or JenaDB, RDF, GRAPHQL / SPARQL is good to have
