Aptiv Connection Systems, Chennai Engineering Center in Chennai, India established in 2001 catering complete product development solutions right from concept design till validation testing to global OEMs.

About this position

We are seeking Testing & Validation Engineer to perform variety of tests to validate the various connection systems products as per the national / international / OEM testing standards.

The incumbent has to work closely with lab counterparts located in other regions and collaborate with the local team in delivering testing reports and recommendations on time.

Job responsibilities

  • Implementing cost-effective methods of testing and troubleshooting the products and systems.
  • Performs engineering RF / analog / EMC test and measurement tasks as well as operational tests
  • Utilize variety of test and measurement equipment to evaluate product performance
  • Plans the environmental, mechanical and electrical / electronic tests.
  • Create test strategies and specifications for new and revised products
  • Prepare test, design test fixtures, complete test procedures for existing products
  • Maintains effective communication with other CS labs and the Global Test Labs so as to develop and promote best practices among the laboratories.
  • Debug optimize test software using National Instruments LabVIEW
  • Basic qualifications

  • Qualified Bachelor / Diploma in Electronics & Communication Engineering
  • 5 years or more in product test or validation engineering working experience particularly in electronics field.
  • In-depth understanding of electrical connector testing procedures. (To include EIA, EN, IEC, MIL standard, etc...).
  • Strong in materials knowledge, manufacturing processes (e.g., plastic injection molding, machining, stamping, assembly) and other related disciplines are added advantage
  • Familiarity with automotive testing specification is preferred.
  • Good planning and organization skills.
  • Strong capability with MS Office suite of software (word / excel / power point).
  • Good English communication skill.
