In order to continue to realize our mission we are looking for a Supply Chain Planner The Supply Chain Planner is active within the Planning Department and is responsible for the most optimized balance between supply and demand.
This is done by working with the Master Scheduler and the Plants to adjust production planning to the latest situation in the supply chain.
By working with the Distribution group to optimize shipping. And by working with Customer Service on finding creative solutions to minimize impacts for commercial affiliates for exceptions that could not be solved within production planning.
The Supply Chain Planner is in the middle of the supply chain protecting Commercial Affiliates against backorders and the total organization against obsolete products.
What are your responsibilities and tasks? Primary Responsibilities Inventory management Optimize inventory of the end to end supply chain Inventory management Solve inventory exceptions by working with the Master Scheduling to adjust production and / or work with the Customer Service to find creative solution to minimize the impact.
Maintain relation and follow up with Manufacturing Source in product releases Coordinate supply and shipment activities in Production delays / reductions, QA hold events and ad hoc supply requests.
Maintain purchase orders based on the latest information from Manufacturing Source. Maintain parameter settings for Build Transportation Load tool.
Create optimized shipment plan including communication with Distribution Minimize hedging exposure. Minimize exposed / excess inventory Manage projected and actual backorders including communication with Manufacturing Source.
Be the primary source of inventory information within supply chain for all relevant Abbott departments. Review key performance indicators regularly, identify opportunities to improve performance, and execute implementation of improvements Optimize system parameter settings, to enable flawless planning & execution Position Interaction Internal & External Contacts Regular contact with multiple Manufacturing sources on planning and execution.
Regular contact with Master Scheduling on the long term planning and support in the monthly S&OP cycle Regular contact with Internal Customer Operations on healthiness of affiliate inventory projection.
Regular contact with the Distribution Team on the planning and execution of shipments. Regular to Occasional contact with QA, Finance and IT departments.
Problem Solving Creative and analytical problem solving skills are required. Accountability Supports achievement of key performance required.
What kind of background we are looking for? Bachelor degree in a related field such as Supply Chain Management, Production Operations Management or Logistics Management Excellent knowledge of Excel Preferably knowledge of SAP APO, BPCS and Power BI Good communication and teamwork skills are required to facilitate good working relationships with supply chain partners.
Strong analytical skills are scheduling, inventory management, and KPI analysis. Effective written and oral communication skills in English are required to facilitate information flow across internal and external supply chain partners.
Negotiation and conflict resolution skills are required to ensure timely and effective solutions to scheduling and inventory management issues internal and external customers.
Innovative skills and initiative are required to identify and implement business process improvements. Excellent organizational and follow-up skills are critical to ensure timely delivery of product and communication with the supply chain partners.
