The Amazon Business (BXI) Buyer Experience Insights (BXI) Team
The AB BXI team within the global AB Buyer Experience product and tech team helps product managers to understand the usage and impact of their products / features to continue to be obsessed about customers while delivering expected business results.
The AB BXI team consists of motivated business intelligence engineers that automate the data acquisition and analysis of product usage and impact to generate both quantitative and qualitative insights and deliver them via dashboards, WBR / MBR reports, and ad hoc research supporting product managers in pursuit of new initiatives and operational plans.
The challenges we tackle
We keep both our customers and product managers (our stakeholders) in mind when we work backwards to figure out the challenges we need to tackle.
Streamline the process of measuring the usage and impact of product features on ongoing basis in a predictable, timely manner to be further used for business reviews (weekly, monthly, quarterly).
Provide insights in self-service fashion via Quicksight dashboards
Onboard feature teams / product managers to BXI and continue to increase self-service in on boarding
Support product managers during operational planning and new initiative planning
Go beyond dashboards and automate analyses to reduce time to prepare for business reviews
Create models to predict the success of product features to be used during operational planning period
The Business Intelligence Engineer (BIE)
We are looking for a customer focused, analytically and technically skilled senior business intelligence engineer to join our team.
This person will be responsible for shaping our BXI product analytics suite vision to become a critical asset of product managers across the product and tech organization of Amazon Business.
The successful candidate will be able to retrieve, integrate, visualize and present critical data in a format that is immediately useful to improving the impact of AB Buying Experience and its related components.
This individual will work with technical and business teams to optimize planning, execution, process improvement and track progress against goals.
This role requires an individual with excellent analytical abilities as well as outstanding business acumen and comfort with technical teams and systems.
The successful candidate will be a self-starter comfortable with ambiguity, with strong attention to detail, and enjoying working with large scale of data.
He / she is able to deep-dive into both data systems and business context to define / derive the necessary insights that can help the product managers to grow their business / features.
Your Responsibilities :
Analyze and visualize large scale data sets such as clickstream data, order data, customer support data, and voice of customer to determine user behavior or buying experience process problems, and output solid analysis report with recommendation.
Create and maintain WBR / MBR / QBR metrics and dashboards.
Develop, maintain, and execute on an intake process to manage requests for insights / dashboards / ad hoc research reports and handle executive queries in a scalable and sustainable fashion
Mentor / guide other BIEs on the team regarding best practices, prioritization of tasks
Identify and execute on opportunities to automate data pipelines, dashboarding, report generation, and user alerting.
Develop queries and visualizations for ad-hoc requests and projects, as well as ongoing reporting., 5+ years of relevant work experience in a role requiring application of analytical skills to utilize data for driving business decisions.
MBA / MS in Engineering, Statistics, Computer Science, Operations Research, Business Analytics, Information Systems or related field.
Advanced knowledge of SQL / Experience in handling database queries.

Interpersonal skills, including written and oral communication skills. PhD in Engineering, Statistics, Computer Science, Operations Research, Business Analytics, Information Systems or related field.
Recent experience implementing basic software solutions to automate data source, visualization and / or data modeling application.
Programming experience in Python, Java, C++ or other language
10+ years of relevant work experience building end to end solutions to performance measurement and process improvement in e-commerce buying experience and / or B2B marketing.
Demonstrated excellence in working with data, product, and operations teams.
