Role Objective : Merchandising strategy, finance, analytics, pricing and promotion are essential to driving consumer perception and operational execution for Giant Eagle’s retail outlets .
How these key business functional coordinate are critical to the success of the organization and in many cases how these insights are implemented are the final step in the process before the customer sees the result.
The goal of this role is to provide support to the merchandising analytics team in a variety of areas that will be important to the success of the team and the organization.
Essential Responsibilities :
Support the management of merchandising categories to achieve annual financial goal including but not limited to : retail sales, wholesale margin, vendor income, shrink, known loss, inventory turns and service levels
Support planning and execution of category strategy, product assortment, ad plans, displays, pricing and promotion
Oversee deal and ad management including deal central, promotion manager, drag and drop, and ad proofing
Manage seasonal promotional planning, developing / supporting information
Coordinate the retail display planning process and communicate with retail operations
Create and maintain reporting tools needed to monitor and track category performance
Monitor trends in new products, consumer behavior, share and competition
