Job Description

To develop and implement an integrated communications and employee engagement strategy for the Genome Valley site, in line with the global Novartis communications blueprint and in full alignment with Sandoz and GDD business and communications strategies in India.

Major Accountabilities : :

  • Executive Communications : Support Head of Sandoz Development Center in India and GV site leadership in strategic and tactical communications including town halls, seminars, exhibitions, presentations, video and photo shoots, articles and photo essays for intranet and digital channels etc.
  • Employee Engagement : Develop, lead and implement strategies and programs that address and improve key areas of employee engagement in close alignment with the GDD India Communications lead.
  • Sandoz and GV positioning : Collaborate with GDD India Communications Head to develop an external Communications strategy to position Sandoz Product Development among key audiences driving reputation in the scientific community in India.
  • Implementation of the strategy will follow the Group Media Relations guidelines; all execution will be done in agreement with the GDD India Communications Head and the Sandoz Hyd site head.

  • Branding and Eminence : Support branding efforts at GV Site, GDD and Sandoz level to strengthen brand association. Collaborate with both GDD India Communications Head, Corporate Communications and other India based communication leads, to exploit opportunities for raising external awareness about GDD capabilities in India
  • Change Communications : Support local change initiatives including the establishment and nurturing of a local Change Advocate Network.
  • Act as a member of the Sandoz product development Communications team and drive select global projects from Hyderabad
  • Key Performance Indicator(s) : :

  • Success of key SDC & GDD change initiatives at GV
  • Strong engagement levels across GV associates as measured through employee survey
  • High awareness about GV capabilities within and outside Novartis
  • Feedback from key internal partners and impact of contribution and impact
  • Minimum requirements

  • Minimum : University degree with qualifications in Arts / Journalism / Mass Communications
  • Proficient in English (read / write / speak)
  • Other Indian languages helpful but not essential
  • 8+ years in communication and / or change management or relevant area with strong focus on internal communication
  • Ability to network with and influence Novartis leadership teams of various functions at Global, Region and Country levels
  • Experience of working within a science based, large scale, global organization preferably a pharmaceutical company
  • Proven experience in leading large scale and global employee engagement strategies and programs in an industry; solid experience in driving communications aspects of complex business transformations
