The Business Transformation Office is made up of a number of specialist teams and transaction Cycles covering Innovation, Transformation, Services Marketing and Corporate Communications, Location Strategy & Transitions, Technology and Service Excellence, Service Management, Company Secretary and Legal.
Its purpose is to ensure that operationally the GSC in India is fit to meet the current and future needs of its stakeholders and clients underpinned by a lean cost base, strong controls and a culture of transformation, innovation and high performance.
Overall purpose of role
Responsible for designing, leading and delivering the strategic transformation programme for GSC India to support in its mission to build World Class GSC and strategic priorities, achieved through continued focus on Location strategy, automation and robotics Programme, expense optimization & value creation, change & project management.
The role holder will provide management and leadership of the Transformation team ensuring effectiveness and efficiency of resources within the environment, managing and developing strong talent pipeline.
Conceptualize, develop and implement a Transformation strategy in line with the GSC goals. Undertake project management, governance & control and delivery activities across transformational projects with below key four deliverables :
successful LS execution through programme planning, governance and oversight. Plan for co-location schedule,demand view and Seat Supply view to be synthesised and coordinated
as input to capital projects demand management. Implement and monitor GSC wide
Location Strategy governance and controls to mitigate and flag risks on the site project,
within the key control framework. Own reporting and tracking of all planned benefits
including people productivity / efficiencies for site specific programme
Robotics Program Delivery and Management Program manage the RPA ecosystem governance including bots management and maintenance, drive consistency around tools / best practices / reporting and scale benefits from Robotics Programme Implementation.
Develop internal knowledge base for new demand, key learning and prioritization. Develop and socialize an ROI (Return on investment) methodology to link and demonstrate the P&L value of various projects being led across business units.
Work in partnership with Group Technology Infrastructure and Heads of UK & Internationals delivery (ops & tech) teams in India
Change and Expense Management Own the commercial / financial acumen required to
drive the behaviours on Headcount / Cost center mapping Ownership of accurate forecast
and tracking actuals. Be the thought leader and Secretariat to the GSC Change and Expense
Management Board including defining the agenda, managing the meetings, recording the
minutes, following up on agreed actions and managing the workflow of the team. Ensures all
challenges are being met and sets up, manages and delivers appropriate cost savings
initiatives in partnership with Finance and Businesses to deliver these. Proactively develops
initiatives to transform the cost structure of the TC and achieve greater cost efficiencies for
the business. Works closely with Finance, Sourcing and Business Management to improve
forecasting, cost management, providing insightful commentary on highlights, lowlights and
improvement opportunities Propose policy level changes and see through Implementation
Transformation Programme Management - Program Management of transform agenda to BuildWorldClassGSC, generate scorecard for GSC Priorities, Actions & Issue logs.
Ensure all stakeholders including Accountable Executives have complete oversight on the project / programme progress and status as required.
Initiate the roadmap for baselining and external benchmarking with Gartner / Hackett. Apply and monitor the standards of regular status reporting.
Support GSC leadership for non-transformation led programs. Run governance of GSC forums / Working groups / internal BT&E function meetings and town halls.
Also be the Chief of Staff to the MD & Chief Transformation Office functions and internal tracking of To-Do , Actions and Issues log and internal review mechanisms
The role holder needs to be able to manage and influence a wide range of stakeholders across Barclays and COO worldwide.
Highly effective communicator with excellent interpersonal skills, great stakeholder management and strong influencing skills The ideal candidate needs to be able to present to GSC India ExCo level as well as communicate both written and verbally with large groups.
He / she needs to be able to negotiate with CO CEO’s in the GSC / TC level ExCo stakeholders to create buy in to strategic plans and secure investment for projects.

Essential / Basic Qualifications
Professional / technical experience
The ideal candidate will have significant demonstrable experience of leading, or materially contributing to, strategy definition and articulation, as well as leadership and analytical qualities.
A proven track record of influencing at senior executive level and leading analysis-led opportunity identification and realisation is essential.
The successful candidate will have a deep understanding and experience of Strategy and Transformation definition and execution, and the passion and enthusiasm to inspire others across the firm.
Financial & technology Services experience is strongly preferred..
The ideal candidate will have a proven ability to build, develop and lead high performing teams through direct line and / or matrix management structures.
Academic and professional qualifications
The ideal candidate will be educated to degree level, supplemented by a further relevant professional qualification or relevant industry experience gained, for example, at a management consulting organisation or through a similar role elsewhere
Strong verbal and written command of the English language is required.
