A senior developer in MSO is an exciting role that delivers websites which satisfy the needs of our clients. The role requires a high-level of competence with several different web technologies while always exploring new ones.
The outputs of your work will include building websites based on designs created by our talented in-house designers. These websites range from simple brochure sites to full eCommerce solutions.
We are always looking to expand our capabilities and we hope you can be a part of it! MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES Attend several early-stage project meetings to address any technical concerns and possibly suggest alternative solutions.
Estimate development time based on project requirements and known limitations. Work closely with designers during the design process to help projects properly align to the web medium.
Build prototypes for testing new technologies or frameworks. BE CURIOUS! Monitor currently hosted websites and perform regular maintenance and updates.
Collaborate with other developers to foster a culture of code reviews, explorations, and code reusability. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor's Degree At least 4 years of professional web development experience.
Strong understanding of HTML and CSS including cross-browser compatibility, performance, and WCAG accessibility compliance.
Proven ability to transform a static comp into a website from the ground up. Experience in task runners and bundlers like : Grunt, Gulp, and Webpack.
Experience with PHP, specifically for WordPress as a platform, including custom post types and custom taxonomies. Being collaborative, self-motivated, and an "always-learning" person, excited to create great web experiences.
Experience integrating 3rd party APIs. An eye for design and experience with design tools such as Sketch, Figma, Photoshop, etc.
Knowledge of SEO best practices and structured data PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Experience with the WP Engine hosting platform.
Knowledge of headless CMS implementations. Experience using static site generators such as Gatsby, Metalsmith, Jekyll, etc.
Experience with GraphQL endpoints. Knowledge of popular frontend frameworks such as React, Vue, etc. Experience with common tools that we use such as Slack, JIRA, Codeship, Cloudinary A passion for web accessibility or UX.
Experience using Advanced Custom Fields to create flexible WordPress modules. Experience building custom Gutenberg Blocks for WordPress.
