ABOUT THE TEAM The Ads Business at Hotstar is one of the biggest among OTT platforms globally in terms of the number of users, advertisers and revenue.

This role is a leadership role and involves managing 2 teams The Ad tech Strategy team is at the forefront of keeping up with the digital ads market trends.

The team proactively tracks market trends, uses the same to align with Hotstar Ads goals and helps shape the business strategy for the business.

Additionally they work with internal business facing teams (Sales, Sports and Entertainment strategy, Ops, Brand solutions etc) to capture their needs.

The team comes up with both internal and external partner based solutions around programmatic, driving ROI, attribution and measurement.

The team drives all publisher, data and platform partnerships with the external ad tech ecosystem. Hotstar Ads Data Science and Analytics - Managing the data science and BI team , identifying business focus areas for Ads and how data can be used to solve for the same.

This team works on planning for long term business impact projects, ensuring ready access to data and insight driven approach for business teams, managing appropriate turnaround for ad hoc business queries and ultimately owning long term vision and planning for Hotstar Ads data solutions.

The role involves working closely with both external stakeholders (advertisers, agencies, competition, 3rd party tech providers etc) and multiple internal teams across sales, strategy, leadership, product, engineering etc.


  • Help influence the business strategy for Hotstar Ads for the short / medium / long term
  • Drive innovative & high impact long-term partnership constructs
  • Work with internal teams to understand and capture business enablement opportunities
  • Evaluate all options basis cost, timelines, revenue opportunities
  • Look for solutions internally and work with the product team to implement the same as a part of the product roadmap
  • Additionally for solutions which are outside the scope of the internal ads stack look for partnerships externally which will need to be vetted and onboarded
  • Work with internal teams to ensure a smooth and consistent go to market strategy for solutions activated
  • Navigate internal & external stakeholders to run the discussions end to end; including identifying the right opportunities, framing win-win structures, negotiation and closure
  • Define the roadmap, execution plans and success measurement for various opportunities
  • Have clear cut roadmap for self and the team for the next 3-6-12 months

  • 9-12 years of experience in the ad tech ecosystem with exposure to ad stack, programmatic, ROI, attribution, measurement etc
  • Be a critical thinker, detail-oriented and highly organized, have an ability to work comfortably in a group setting
  • Rich experience having worked on external facing data and publisher partnerships
  • Understanding of business ecosystem for video monetization (platforms, advertisers, agencies etc)
  • Hands on and high comfort level with data
  • Experience to build and execute business cases
  • Should have worked in large / medium sized organizations collaborating with multiple teams
  • Preferred - Experience working with Data Science teams on business impact projects
  • Preferred - Strategy experience with publisher inventory and data for online / mobile app first business
