Provide technical expertise for a wide range of manufacturing automation and control systems activities on new pharmaceutical equipment and facilities across the Vemgal site.


Work within standards and operational policies / procedures for the automation systems on site.

Ensure all work executed is carried out in compliance with current legislation and policy

Identify, develop and implement approved automation system changes to support manufacturing operations

Keep up to date with technologies to ensure the appropriate solutions are utilised to maximise business benefits

Work at all times in line with current EHS legislation and GSKs policies and procedures to maintain own, team and public safety

Collaborate with other teams within and above site, including IT, engineering, production, procurement, QA and validation

Provide specialist knowledge on automation / IT issues within the site.

Support a continuous improvement culture

Responsible for the delivering and promoting a culture of maintaining and improving the performance of Safety, Quality, Cost and Customer Service

Use gembas to identify abnormalities from the standard and to get them fixed, fast. Escalate if appropriate through the tiered accountability process.

Looking for candidates with BTech / BE in Electrical / Electronics, Instrumentation Engineering or Engineering C&I with 7-

10 years of experience Automation from a reputed pharma company

Technical expertise in several scientific and automation engineering areas which will include several of the following : -

oControl systems ( PLC, SCADA)

oInstrumentation (sensors, actuators, PMT)

oMotion and control (invertors, servo)

oElectrical Design (control panel and field wiring)

oIT Infrastructure (network ,firewalls, data storage)

oManufacturing Execution Systems (Data historians, OEE, SAP)

oISA Standards (S95, S88)

oP&ID nomenclature and electrical wiring diagrams

oCommunication networks and protocols (serial, Profibus, Ethernet)

oIntegration technologies (OPC, XML, BatchML)

oDatabase knowledge (SQL, Oracle, data warehousing, architecture)

oEHS process and standards (CE, PUWER, HAZOP, CHAZOP)
