Job Summary : The Engineer Service Delivery will be responsible for providing the primary VDI management, administration, support, and ongoing maintenance of customer Infrastructure Platforms within a 24x7x365 environment and data Center environment.
This role must be able to understand, execute, and document moderate to complex operational tasks and work requests that are assigned and have experience in moderate to complex research and fact finding using various tools and informational sources.
Key Responsibility :
Deliver end-to-end systems engineering services to customers - requirements gathering, design, development, test and documentation of VDI infrastructure
Support our VDI installations, and extend level 3 support to our operations teams (End users)
Lead exercises to optimize and stabilize VDI environment
Coordinate the input of service providers and partners to ensure delivery and support of key systems
Partner with applications, platform, infrastructure and applications teams to design and build environments to best deliver our business functionality
Liaise and partner extensively with the various support functions in the successful transition of developed solutions into BAU running mode
Strong partnership with Wintel team as VDI sits on the wintel infrastructure
Develop project plans and schedules, identify technical risks, and support the customer in mitigating risks to the mission
Install and configure all infrastructure (Network, Storage, Compute) required to support VDI environments
Configure and troubleshoot VMware Horizon View environments along with its architectural components : Desktop Pools, Connection Servers (and Replica Servers), Security Server, Enrollment Server, Resource Pools, vCenter, and thin and / or zero-clients.
Image development & testing, image deployment
Experience / knowledge in designing VMware environments to scale to customer demands as well as supporting VMware Horizon (VDI) solutions
Deep Knowledge of VMWare horizon view (6 / 7) & thin client / VDI laptop hardware configuration
SME level troubleshooting servers, workstations, and user experience issues with apps.
Creating and updating policies and procedures.
Requirement Details :
Strong experience on Horizon View, VDI.
7 -10 years of experience with Virtualized environments to include VDI, and thin / zero-clients
Experience with deploying VDI solutions utilizing Horizon View and managing Active Directory, Windows Server 2012 / 2016, and Windows Desktop 10.
Understanding of TCP / IP protocols and services such as : PCoIP, Blast, RDP, ICMP, UDP, TCP, SMTP, SNMP, LDAP, DNS, NTP, and understanding of wider set of protocols.
