Job Responsibilities

  • The Credit Risk Analyst role is to provide clerical, investigative and analytical support to the global Credit Risk Management functions.
  • A successful candidate may be asked to undertake a wide range of activities which may include; Credit Risk analysis of potential new merchant accounts;
  • Credit Risk analysis of existing merchant relationships; and / or investigation into potentially fraudulent activity on existing merchant relationships.

    The role will require working with numerous teams globally, providing credit and fraud analysis and completing risk assessments / financial analysis.

    Scope of Job

    Limited direct impact to financial strategy and activities. Performs moderately to high complex tasks. Position requires some evaluation or ingenuity.

  • Time management skills are a must as well as good communication skills. Ability to understand and apply risk management concepts;
  • collect and analyse exposure and loss data, respond efficiently and effectively to internal and external requests. Maintain current knowledge of industry and professional topics by attending relevant training sessions.

    Job Requirements

  • A successful candidate may be asked to undertake Credit Risk assessments for prospective merchants to First Data or one of its alliances.
  • The review process will be used to assess the credit worthiness of prospective clients and may include; reviewing credit history, processing history or other supporting information;
  • conducting analysis of a merchant's financial profile; undertaking a review of the website and / or business model to assess risk exposure;
  • and / or verifying information provided. The candidate will be required to ensure a balanced risk decision is made and merchant accounts are approved or declined in line with risk appetite, policy and in line with Visa and MasterCard scheme rules and local / regional laws as applicable.

  • A successful candidate may be asked to undertake Credit Risk reviews of existing merchant accounts / relationships. The assessment will include;
  • a review of the merchant's financial profile to understand operating performance and on-going credit worthiness; a review of the merchant's processing history and conduct during the relationship;
  • a review of the merchant's business activity, future business plan if applicable and a merchant's website where required;
  • and / or assessing any other supporting information that may have been provided. The candidate must ensure a full assessment is made of the merchant facility to assess the future relationship and credit worthiness, ensuring a full and balanced risk decision is made.

  • A successful candidate may be asked to complete investigations into potential fraudulent activity identified on an existing merchant relationship.
  • The candidate must have the ability to identify trends in processing which may indicate fraudulent activity and work in a fast-

    paced environment, making quick and balanced risk decisions.
