Job Responsibilities

  • Own a specific mechanical sub-category’s Cost Engineering activities with strong knowledge on Category / Sourcing Management, Manufacturing process, Should costing, Cost Modelling (Primarily Turned Parts & Machined Brass Forgings)
  • Closely work with Global procurement category / sourcing heads to synergize business strategies & Cost Down expectations
  • Build & align Cost down roadmap in your respective area of responsibility
  • Perform Should Cost Analysis
  • Own & Develop Should Cost models for making them robust
  • Identify & Drive break-through Cost Down projects that brings fresh saving pipeline for organization
  • Participate & support major Supplier negotiations together with category / sourcing managers
  • Contribute idea generations in Value Engineering / Value Analysis projects through Design for Manufacturability (DfM)
  • Embed Sustainability requirements & it’s implications in Cost Down, in-line with Procurement’s role on ESG (Environment, Social & Governance), keeping Decarbonization & Circularity as step change initiatives
  • Continuous improvement on Should Costing & it’s related toolbox
  • Perform Analytics using Linear Performance Pricing (LPP) or similar, to identify new opportunities
  • Tear down & Reverse engineering of products based on project need
  • Explore & benchmark best practices across industries to make our Cost Down toolbox world class & digitalize wherever possible to improve transparency, speed & capacity.

  • Background & Skills

  • Minimum of 9-12 years working experience from a manufacturing industry environment
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • Strong knowledge on global sourcing & manufacturing best practices on Mechanical parts & products
  • Must have worked in an organization / team or role where Cost saving as one of main KPI using Product Cost Management principles
  • Exposure to aPriori or similar tool
  • Proven career experience on contributing Cost savings impact through Should costing & it’s related activities
  • Good knowledge on (mechanical) manufacturing processes & able to read simple to complex engineering drawings, interpret GD&T, standard etc.
  • Experienced in interdisciplinary and global working environment
  • Very strong analytical skills coupled with excellent interpersonal skills
  • Strong team player

  • Ability to manage multiple complex projects and assignments with a high degree of autonomy and accountability for results
