Product quality review associated with the manufacturing process. Accountable for the quality of own work. Subject to direct operations supervision / prescribed work instructions / systems checking.
Executes within a well-defined operations framework. There is generally a step by step sequence of standard operational tasks which need to be followed to achieve an end result.
Roles and Responsibilities
Verify conformance to specification by measuring and testing during in-house manufacturing. Perform incoming goods control, product inspections, witness points to control quality for items from external suppliers.
Developing conceptual knowledge of professional discipline. May include support roles with specialized expertise or technical knowledge in broad area.
Applies general knowledge of business developed through education or past experience. Understands how work of own team contributes to the area.
Resolves issues using established procedures. Consults supervisor or more senior team members for issues outside of defined instructions / parameters.
Collaborates with others to solve issues. For customer facing roles, develops strong customer relationships and serves as the interface between customer and GE.
Exchanges technical information, asks questions and checks for understanding.
Make sure all the control and checks while manufacturing is properly carried-out
Make sure all the measurement devices are in order and approved for use for the quality control activities
Make sure all the records are properly filled-in and made available
Each stage is to be confirmed for Quality aspects before proceeding to next stage.
Identifying potential impacts during drawing reviews and before launching product in to manufacturing.
Develop and train operators for drawing study and impact of defects in shop floor during manufacturing.
Verify conformance to specification by measuring and testing during in-house manufacturing.
Perform in process manufacturing CTQ control, product inspections, witness points to control quality.
Executes routine analyses using vested methods and technologies and / or contributes to technological developments in teams under supervision.
Works together with people from the business unit. Contacts are under guidance and / or geared towards collecting or giving technical information.

Training the production team on quality control measures to improve product excellence
Proposing improvements to the production process
Monitoring the use of equipment to ensure it is safe and discard any that do not meet requirements
Updating job knowledge by engaging in educational opportunities and regular training
Keeping measurement equipment operating accurately by following calibration requirements and calling for repairs
Spot checks at workstation (randomly re-do quality control activities performed by operators)
End of Manufacturing Report review and consolidation
For roles outside of the USA- This role requires basic experience in the Manufacturing & Production Quality Control. Knowledge level is comparable to a Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college ( or a high school diploma with relevant experience).
For roles in USA - Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college (or a high school diploma / GED with at least 6 years of experience in Job Family Group(s) / Function(s)).
Bachelor of Electrical / Mechanical Engineering
6-10 Years experience in Transformer Manufacturing / Quality.
Expertise in Quality Control technicalities.
ISO 9001 : 2015 Internal auditor qualification will be desirable.
Green Belt Six Sigma is preferable
Strong oral and written communication skills. Ability to document, plan, market, and execute programs.
