Provides business planning and analysis support for global, complex and multi-country IT environment across 138 legal entities and >

50 countries, including but not limited to : month-end closing, management reporting, budget and latest estimates, forecasting, value-

based performance management for NBS in the respective country. Acts as challenging business partner and manage stakeholders of global and local IT teams to deliver on agreed targets.

Drives adherence of financial guidance (e.g. NAM regulations, GR postings, PO creation, CAR guidance, etc.) for area of responsibility.

Business Partnering - Partners effectively on different dimensions ( global, within NBS, across divisions as well external stakeholders) -

Drives cost transparency and ensure good understanding of key cost drivers - Evaluates risks & opportunities, proactively communicates and makes recommendations for mitigation.

Follows up and drives issue resolution - Ensures business partners understand the financial processes and follow internal guidelines / SOPs -

Generates ad hoc financial analysis to support business decisions Planning (Budget, LF) & Reporting - Drives the planning process for Budget / LF for Cost, FTEs and Services (Qs) for the area(s) of responsibility -

Drives optimal resource allocation between Business, Customers and 3rd party providers in collaboration with key stakeholders -

Supports and challenges the organization to set and achieve stretched targets. - Ensures timely, accurate and meaningful financial management reporting on operation and project cost that serve for the basis of performance management and decision making -

Challenges business requirements and validate with equivalent benchmarks Decision support for Investments / Projects - Works in close collaboration with the Country / Region Finance and Business and leads the financial assessment for investments / projects -

Ensures a standardized Investment / Project approval process is followed in line with Novartis Accounting Manual and other guidelines.

  • Leads projects to improve processes and to drive innovation for area(s) of responsibility Productivity & Offshoring and KPI Tracking / Benchmarking -
  • Identifies and leads cost savings and productivity initiatives - Drives the Offshoring / Outsourcing Strategy and works closely with sourcing function to maximise productivity (location strategy) Accounting / Compliance -

    Ensures good accounting and practices in line with Novartis Accounting Manual (NAM) - Applies standard accounting concepts and techniques -

    Identifies root cause of problems and recommends controls or processes for improvement. Leadership - Provides support and guidance to other finance colleagues within (but not limited to) NBS Finance -

    Actively drives and supports the Change Management agenda of the function / business - Takes the lead for the area of responsibility in providing guidance and decision making support for the organization -

    Shares and drives best practices and knowhow within the Finance team

  • Minimum requirements

    University Degree (Master or higher) in Finance & Accounting or similar business degree English, 2nd language desirable -

    At least 5- 8 years finance experience in Controlling / Business Planning - Analysis and financial reporting and accounting -
