Department Description:
Oracle Applications Labs (OAL) runs the Oracle software that runs Oracle. OAL is responsible for implementing, running, and improving nearly all of Oracle's Enterprise Applications: CRM, HCM, Financials, SCM, you name it. We use Oracle's own real-life business requirements as a "test bed" for innovation. We often race out ahead of standard product and build extensions and custom applications to meet the needs of our 100,000-employee, Fortune 100 company. Once proven, our ideas and innovations quickly find their way back into core product. We also ensure that Oracle is always Oracle’s best reference for our enterprise applications, and provide the field-facing demo scripts, systems, and know-how to Oracle's sales force.
Current and recent projects include implementing Oracle's cutting-edge Fusion applications at Oracle, delivering the infrastructure to operate Oracle's Public Cloud SaaS and PaaS solutions; architecting applications optimally for the world's fastest servers (Exadata & Exalogic); delivering self-service Quoting, Order and Contract Management tools to sales, and designing universal worklist modalities on iPad and iPhone.

Qualifications / Skill set:Proven Information Technology experience of at least 10+ years with 2+ years in a Managerial role or equivalent Project leadership and Project resource management skills.At least 3-4 years IT implementation or development experience with Oracle ERP, CRM, SCM or SaaS applications and web based programming technologies.Experience with large scale Oracle ERP, CRM, SCM implementations and related integration a major plus.Knowledge on Oracle Order fulfilment, Install Base & Oracle service contracts applications and systems integration flows is a major plus.Strong working experience working with SQL, PL/SQL, Java, XML and related technologies in order to act as technical mentor for team.Experience of building, developing and building a successful IT teams.Prior Product Management or Development Manager experience a major plusProven ability to work well within a global team and in a matrix management structure is requiredProven, demonstrable ability to provide guidance, motivation and leadership to the teamMust be able to organize and prioritize tasks, actions and resources to operate effectively on multiple projectsMust be a strong team playerStrong verbal and written communication skillsExcellent problem solving and critical thinkingProven analytical skills, attention to detail and qualityAbility to work in a cross team environment and problem solve technical issuesStrong oral and written communication skills in both technical and non-technical conversationEducation: B.E/M.TECH (or equivalent) degree is required
Responsibilities:Team building activities such as hiring, mentoring & training team members.Helping team members to build and execute their career development plan.Assisting team on various projects & production support issues.Monitoring & balancing the workload of team members.Working closely with Application Owners, Solution specialists, peers and other POC’s on various functional & technical issues.Providing adequate production support coverage for quarter end / month end work.Assisting product development groups in debugging issues logged by internal members.Interacting frequently with manager to understand the global priorities of the team.Assigning tasks to team members based on priorities and individual interests.Is the single Point of Contact for day-to-day operational functions and processes and issues in respective area.Conducts regular and periodic reviews of the production support operation to monitor status and improve the operation’s efficiency.Assures the fitness and quality of the implementation delivery work by the group.Monitors the timely application of patches, testing of release fixes and maintains the team’s regression testing rota through close working with the application owners.Interacts closely with the key business contacts to resolve escalated issue, production support, training etcResponsible for application and internal audit functions.
On the whole, manager should be able to help his team and guide them to deliver their tasks and pitch in with program/design, when there is a need.

Manages a team maintaining and/or implementing software project(s) and/or internal systems. Defines, documents and manages scope, expectations, implementation approach, deliverables and acceptance testing criteria.

Leads a specialized area which may have diverse functional elements. Frequently interacts with supervisors and/or functional peer group managers. May interact with senior management. Demonstrated leadership skills. Detailed knowledge of several applications within a business area needed. BA/BS degree and relevant experience.
