Job Description :

  • Responsible for the management of all design activities including design concept reviews, design freeze / release, DFM, DFMEA, CAE &
  • design / product validation requirements.

  • Ensure newly released designs are meeting quality, cost & delivery targets.
  • Review with the team to recommend their customers to apply or adapts current or emerging technology products of company.
  • Drive product development along with project engineers and CFT.
  • Lead Design and project review with global team.
  • Lead weekly product development review with project engineers and CFT.
  • Lead product Bench Marking.
  • Ensure lesson learned is captured by team & same learnings are being horizontally deployed in new products & existing product improvements (Engineering changes) to prevent potential failures.
  • Set department objectives / KPI- s, review and assess ongoing performance of direct reports.
  • Communicate KPI's from the strategic annual plan so that each employee is aware.
  • Contribute to the implementation of company's vision, strategy, policies, business process & procedures to aid &
  • improve operational performance.

  • Experience in prototypes build, lab testing, testing in field and establishing the benchmarking studies
  • In depth knowledge and experience of DFM, DFMEA, FMEA, APQP & PPAP process.
  • New project or business realization (Technical Proposals, Concept Design, Costing Review etc).
  • Driving the execution of new projects and product development
  • Adhering to the business process (APQP, ECN etc)
  • Defining product Strategy
  • Defining KPIs of team
  • Establishing performance management tools.
  • Trouble shooting of field performance issues
  • Customer Satisfaction
  • Technical Competence & Skills :

  • Strong skills in reviewing concept designs
  • Strong knowledge of APQP, DFMEA, DFM, ECN process
  • Strong knowledge of manufacturing process
  • Strong knowledge of design tolerance requirement
  • Leadership Competence :

  • Proactive towards identifying the issues and solving the problem.
  • Strong man management, conflict management skills
  • Takes ownership for team cohesion
  • Organized & methodical with a can do / will do approach.
