In the Regulatory Reporting area, within Finance IT, Liquidity Reporting’ is one of the major programmes, that deals with providing Liquidity Regulatory returns for HSBC Globally.
The programme is being implemented due to the fact that over the last ten years or so, our regulators have been asking for more and more granular reporting.
Producing these outputs within a defined time period using the technology available to us has been one of our biggest challenges.
Before Cloud technology, processing very large volumes of data was challenging. The limitations of our legacy technology mean that we currently have to run 10 different processes simultaneously to process the quantum of data needed to produce regulatory returns.
Using the compute power of Cloud technology, we can overcome this problem, redesign our operating model and take a data driven approach to reporting, rather than an output driven approach.
