The AM&C Engineer drives the orderly, high level of qualityservice management activities supporting Analytics, Management & Controlwithin Global Network Services.

The role is the execution point forits service in Global Network Services, inclusive of advancing the technologyroadmap, delivery of business analytics services for the group, compilingregular projections against plan and generally fulfilling the objectives ofthe department’s plans.

The rolesupports the operational readiness and automation efficiencies of thebusiness unit by reviewing the overall adherence to and determinesmeasurement of required service mandates such as the agreed Service LevelAgreements (SLA) for analytics services.

The role additionally coordinates analytic initiatives for the team alignedto the specifications of the AM&C directives.

The role escalates operational variances toplan as well as noted disparity between the group’s objectives, SLA mandatesand other obligations, whether internal or external.

The role supports the design, building andenhancement of a DevOps framework for service delivery by working with theunit’s senior leadership to understand the intended outcomes and benefits ofAnalytics, Automation and Orchestration initiatives and coordinates andcompiles business requirements with others in Information Technology (IT)such as architects, technology engineers, specialists, and external serviceproviders.

The role involves analytics thatwill draw attention to efficiency and optimization across Compute Network functions,as well as a formal roadmap’ to capture long term goals and alignedtimelines for select automation & orchestration activities to support theorderly transition to the next generation of functionality or the operationalreadiness of the current processes and services.

Tomaintain an ongoing review as to plan, the role supports quarterly businessreviews (QBR) and, as needed, monthly business reviews (MBR) with technologyvendors, business sponsors, and IT partners.

The role supports audit, regulatory and governance activities of theteam and performs reporting of the group’s measures in maintaining adherenceto EY and IT directives for compliance and risk management.

The role supportsselect staffing activities such as the maintenance and upkeep of scripts,automations and programs based on the AM&C strategy.

The role possesses astrong advanced understanding of the underlying technologies within IT and inparticular for Global Network Services, provides information through formalmetrics analytics and other aspects of knowledge sharing that is produced byand for IT teams.

The role isan individual contributor and is generally guided by the Global Lead ofAutomation, Management & Control Services.


  • Performsroutine and predictive data analysis, and dashboard reporting forAnalytics, Management & Control through scripts, routines and othersystems, to improve, refine and guide the execution of automatedconfiguration changes in the Compute - Network Services business.
  • Monitors the agreed definition andimplementation of Global Network Services Automation, Management &Control directives aligned to the overall IT service requirements inconfiguration change automation and general process improvement directives.
  • Identifies the appropriate maintenance and monitoring of an agreedproject’s time line, agreed deliverables and other requirements tosupport the department and its objectives.

  • Develops team members by ensuringtraining and certifications are pursued annually. Mentors and guidesjunior members and ensures they are networked within and outside thedepartment.
  • Supports the quality managementprocesses for Global Network Services through the creation and review ofanalytics to assess such mandates as overall adherence to OperationalLevel Agreements (OLA) as well as Service Level Agreements (SLA) as ameasure of service standards against business and efficiencydirectives.
  • Supports and conducts as agreed QBRs andMBRs with aligned vendors, business sponsors and collaborating teamsacross IT to monitor measures to maintain operational readiness for ITas well as review progress against agreed deliverables.
  • Coordinatesand reports on procurements for supplier services and technical assetsas part of Global Network’s internal and external procurement processesand to monitor such directives as aging, cost efficiency, and inventory.
  • Supports monthly and annual budget andother financial projections and reporting utilizing agreed KeyPerformance Indicators (KPI) and other analytical elements to guidereview levels and identify variances requiring attention.
  • Drives the inventory of all costingagainst the annual budget such as the aligned cost drivers or cost of servicesto consumption drivers and other financials for escalation oradjustment.

  • Performs or coordinates audit, regulatory and governancereporting activities for the team and oversees the group’s appropriatemeasures in maintaining adherence to EY and IT directives for complianceand risk management.
  • Oversees the identification of notedpatterns in audit findings and variances to mandate compliance torecognize trends, identify efforts to streamline, strengthen andautomate processes and / or procedures.

  • Leadsbest practice efforts across the assigned business team to establish andembed a formal knowledge management process including the development,delivery and maintenance of a unified knowledge repository utilizingshared EY communication resources including SharePoint.
  • Supportsstaff management directives for Global Network Services to createcohesiveness across the team and provide appropriate influencemanagement and business reporting for the group’s leadership.
  • Supports the need to resolve teamconflicts with a proven ability to implement and communicate difficultdecisions as well as provide peer mentoring as appropriate.

    The role requires a strong analytical acumen and solution orientation to understand the nuances Global Network Services deployed across geographic regions as well as to guide appropriate changes and activities within the directives of the role’s remit.

    Utilizes knowledge of aligned services to make role appropriate decisions and determine effective ways to address service and capacity issues and to monitor and maintain appropriate project and financial plan oversight and business reporting.

    The role additionally requires consultative questioning, influence management and critical thinking skills to understand a current directives and recommend viable solutions that are both effective and supporting the value to the business.


    Individual must :

  • Be highly skilled in the key role functions above, at a scripting, programming and release management level.

    Manifests a strong analytical and problem solving ability to escalate and negotiate complex and conflicting change issues, handle multiple and shifting priorities across a broad spectrum of operating environments and drive solutions that are both financially sound and operationally feasible for IT continuity management.

    Incorporates a working knowledge of effective vendor and supplier management disciplines as appropriate and aligned to procurement and other services in use by the business unit.

    Manifests a strong financial understanding of IT Services budgets and cost elements with the ability to perform market or competitor analysis and business domain or operations analytics.

    Develops an in depth and continuous understanding of EY’s business, the interconnectivity the assigned business unit has to the firm’s overall operating model and well as the risk and compliance directives and regulations governing same.

    Recommends or identifies the appropriate services and solutions as part of knowledge sharing and platform and services positioning.

    The role is a people manager and is guided by the Director of the assigned business unit.


    The role may also require the periodic allocation of additional time on the job, including Saturdays and Sundays, to support multiple demands and escalating issues and can require some travel to support incident management (unplanned work) as well as change & problem management activities (planned work), project activities or global team meetings.



    University degree in related technology field (Computer, Engineering, Science, Math etc.) or comparable job experiences


    Approximately 5 to 7 years of experience in an analytics role. At least 3 years in statistical modelling, predictive analytics and reporting, including development roles, machine learning algorithms and artificial intelligence.

    Able to exhibit a progression of increasingly complex job responsibilities during the period inclusive of people, project and service management skills and service remediation techniques and planning.

    Additionally may require familiarity or experience in :

  • IT service delivery, direct business engagement, and multiple technology domains
  • Work with the ITIL methodology in the area of process engineering
  • Work with IT services or technology product companies or as vendor manager or procurement manager

  • Data platforms
  • Expert in database such as SQL, NoSQL, Spark , Hadoop.
  • Expert in relational databases like MS SQL / MySQL etc and NoSQL like MongoDB / Cassandra
  • Working knowledge in Business intelligence solutions and data warehousing concepts
  • Exposure to of Big data platform like Hadoop / Spark
  • Exposure to log management frameworks like Splunk or equivalent
  • Data wrangling skills

  • Expert in using query languages such as SQL, Spark SQL
  • Proficient in python data warning skills in packages like pandas
  • Working knowledge in coding and develop ETL Solutions using Python, PySpark
  • Working knowledge on one of the prominent ETL tools like Informatica, Talend, Pentaho, Datastage, SSIS or equivalent
  • Data Visualization

  • Working knowledge in visualization tools like Power BI / Tableau / Spotfire
  • Exposure to Data collection and modelling options on the tools
  • Data Science and machine learning

  • Understanding of machine learning techniques and algorithms, such as k-NN, Naive Bayes, SVM, Decision Forests and deep learning.
