This position is based in Mumbai & the commercial lead for South Asia will be primarily responsible for developing and executing South Asia strategy with specific impetus on building customer access in Bangladesh for all value chains, customer access in Pakistan for oilseeds and developing teams, supplier networks and local intra-regional supply chains for building volumes ex-India.

The incumbent will also drive downstream value addition and solutioning through building solutions portfolio, scouting for the opportunities in building customer partnerships and enabling assets for achieving profitable volume growth with long term competitive differentiation.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Develop and Execute the marketing plans for South Asia (India, Bangladesh, Pakistan) in close collaboration with Asia distribution team and global value chains
  • Direct accountability for the annual budgets for CNF and distribution volumes, pipeline profitability, value added solutions and other customer performance metrics
  • Ownership and accountability for building and managing customer relationships in South Asia and building strategic partnerships with key stakeholders including customers, suppliers, trade partners and regulatory bodies
  • Responsible for pipeline risk management, open book m2m exposure, customer execution risk management, logistics planning and execution for the South Asian book
  • Responsible for demand planning, market intelligence, competition activity, local government policies, import grid updates and country S&D in collaboration with the Asia commercial and research team for South Asian Region
  • Point person for other businesses like BSF / FRM, BLC India office and other Global functions for managing South Asian customer program and value creation as One Bunge
  • Responsible for scouting the business growth opportunities in the Region through enabling assets, JV’s and partnership and executing that with the Commercial BD and Strategy teams
  • Actively build & grow local talent in the Region for expanding the business activities though local office sets ups in the Region
  • Regional Volumes Ex-India : Local supply chain and distribution ex-India for 250-500KMT in 2years
  • Build a team of local resources and set up country offices in 1-2 years in Bangladesh and Pakistan
  • Value Added solutions portfolio partnering with BSF / FRM ($ to be defined with the respective teams)
  • Volume Growth : CNF volume share increase for wheat, beans, SBM and corn / feed-grains
  • Market Development : Local SND, demand and supply Insights and local supply chain management ex-India
  • Customer Development : New customer development & strategic account management
  • Pipeline profitability : building added value solutions portfolio for BSF / FRM and local distribution
  • Execution Risk management : 100% flawless executions, customer risk management and adherence to compliance guidelines
  • Customer Partnering : strong customer relationships, partnering and solutioning skills, ability to connect different parts of organization to serve customer’s needs
  • Business Development : expert in go-to-market planning for the country, stakeholder partnering and business development opportunities
  • Leadership : Strategic thinking, analytical, execution tenacity, result orientation and ability to build alignment on game-plans
  • Team Building & Collaboration : Capable of cross functional collaboration, working across boundaries with diverse teams and building talent & teams to support business growth teams

  • Commodity Experience : highly experienced profile with commodity domain expertise (preferably in feed industry) and local experience of managing customers / business in India and Bangladesh
  • Country Experience : strong professional network, familiarity with local cultural, language, environment, regulatory frameworks and work systems in India and Bangladesh
  • 10+ related industry experiences
  • Solid knowledge & insights in the feed industry and its supply and demand dynamics
  • Analytical : strong analytical mind, decisiveness, logical reasoning, and clear communication
  • Job Stretch : can work on stretched assignments including working with diverse teams, time zones and intensive travelling
