We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer- DevOps to join our Platform team in Bangalore. This is an amazing opportunity to work on TECH.

The team consists of 7 and is reporting to the MANAGER PLATFORM TOOLS. We have a great skill set in Linux Systems Operations and we would love to speak with you if you have skills as DevOps provisioning services in the Cloud (AWS).

About You experience, education, skills, and accomplishments

  • Must have a bachelor’s degree in Engineering or master’s degree (BE, ME, B Tech, M Tech, MCA, MS) with good communication and logical skills
  • 7-8 years of experience Advanced knowledge of Linux or Unix operating systems (RedHat / Centos / Amazon Linux, etc.)
  • Good programming skills to solve operational problems with a developer’s mindset (Python, Bash or similar)
  • Working experience with AWS or other cloud providers, good understanding of cloud architectures
  • Experience working with containers and Kubernetes
  • Experience in software application lifecycle, deployment, and release management
  • Strong sense of ownership and taking responsibility to help the team succeed
  • Experience with diagnosing and troubleshooting performance issues at scale.
  • It would be great if you also had

  • Advocate and practitioner of modern approaches to systems management and infrastructure automation (Ansible, Terraform)
  • Experience in build automation and continuous integration tools (Jenkins, Maven, Gradle and other Java ecosystem tools).
  • What will you be doing in this role?

  • You will be responsible for designing, documenting, implementing, and maintaining the software development lifecycle tools that support development of all our cloud-based products
  • Work closely with DevOps and Development teams to enable and evolve development practices and operability in an agile environment
  • Build, install and maintain tools for all DevOps and Development teams across Clarivate
  • Plan, design and implement changes to the software development lifecycle (SDLC) tools configurations and installations
  • Build integrations between the tools
  • Use infrastructure automation tools like Terraform & Ansible to maintain and update the services deployed to our AWS infrastructure, in a secure and cost-conscious way
  • Recommend technology optimisations, performance and process improvements
  • Advise Development and DevOps teams on best practices in using of the tools
  • Document systems architectures and commissioned servers / services

    We are a central Platform Team operating an integrated toolkit that supports software delivery lifecycle. We enable development and DevOps teams to deliver their work from source code to customers with sufficient autonomy.

    About the Team

    The Platform Tools and Infrastructure (PTI) is organized in a flat structure with a manager and 7 people. The role is to provide Tools Support for Clarivate employees (DevOps / Programmers) with Engineering practices to solve common problems when running systems in production.

    The person needs to develop high reliable and scalable systems / services on AWS, resolve incidents reported by our users (internal DevOps / Developers) and handle support escalation issues (on-call).

    The team is in 3 time zones : India, Europe and US.

    Hours of Work

    Each team works on their normal time zone hours. For a position in India this person will work with a permanent contract during normal IST hours and making normal Indian Bank Holidays.
