Introduction to the Job Role
The Automotive Supply Chain and Technology team at IHS Markit is in search of a researcher into Electric mobility domain of Automotive to be based at our Gurgaon office, reporting to Manager locally in Gurgaon.
We have a network of research analysts and subject matter experts located around the world, with ever expanding component and model level forecasts we track the fitment of technologies and components.
The main focus of this role is to develop datasets for forecasting and to write research reports of varying length.
Primary Responsibilities :
Track developments in the automotive Electric Mobility sector
Primary and secondary research on technologies and market development entailing Electric Mobility / Electric Vehicles with a view to product reports, data and analytics
Create an effective research strategy. Collate, organize and analyse complex data / information to create insights for clients.
Produce research reports of varying length, in which specific market developments in the automotive Electric Mobility space are analysed.
Support the creation of detailed data sets in which automotive Electric Mobility market structures are analyzed
Leveraging data either already existing or to be gathered and collated to create insight by using logical conclusions and deductions.
Work in teams, with deadlines and contribute to team-building efforts
Work with Global Subject Matter expert for Global forecasting for associated components in Electric Mobility domain.
Lead projects whenever required
Project work involvement, including cross-regional and cross-team projects as needed
Ability and willingness to begin the development of a network of contacts at automotive companies
Required Skills & Experience :
Previous experience in the Electric Mobility domain is highly desirable (including University studies in this area)
4-6 years related experience in the automotive industry at an OEM, supplier, renowned research organizations or engineering consultancy, preferably in a business intelligence function (focus on technology or competitive analysis).
Candidates from other backgrounds will be assessed, however an exposure to market research projects is essential.
Proven understanding of Electric vehicle subsystems particularly Power electronics, E- Motors and Batteries and other main associated technology trends in the automotive industry.
Knowledge of evolution of electronic architecture is a requirement. Electric Mobility costing experience and understanding of trends is highly desirable.
Bachelor / Master's Degree in Automotive engineering would be preferred with special focus on Electric Vehicles. Candidates from other streams of engineering can also apply Electrical / Electronics engineering, market research.
Fluency in spoken and written English
An interest / passion for cars is desirable
Proficiency with MS applications required (Excel, Word and PowerPoint); understanding of database mechanics helpful (e.g. Access, SQL)
Accurate Analytical and Data interpretation skills
Strong motivation and ability to self-organize to achieve difficult targets under tight time constraints
Highly networked candidates in Electric Mobility domain will be given preference.
