Senior Performance Engineer
Job description :
Under general direction, assess performance risk, identifies critical use cases and select key performance scenarios. Establish performance objectives.
Works closely with business and product areas to translate business and development plans into enterprise-wide transaction sequencing models.
Responsible for determining software / hardware resource requirements across Sabre critical open systems.
Utilizes statistical performance analysis and modelling techniques to validate transaction forecasts.
Works closely with end-to-end capacity planner to integrate performance measurement data into capacity plans.
Uses tools to measure, quantify and analyse the performance benchmark and validate with end-to-end transaction sequences / rates.
Asks probing questions to obtain critical information for decision making. Identifies problems and associated performance measurement risks.
Technical consulting on automation issues, tools and processes.
Demonstrates good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions.
Aligns decision making and problem solving with longer term strategy.
Consults with development engineers in resolution of problems. May take part in researching best practices, new tools and technology.
Desired Skills :
Minimum 5 years related experience; minimum 3 years experience with open system (Linux / Unix) performance measurement analysis and performance measurement tools;
Practiced in applying statistical analysis techniques to accurately estimate and evaluate application workloads;
Expert in applying rigorous logic and methods to solve difficult problems with effective solutions; proficient in sequence modelling using UML standards;
prior strong development experience (Java / C++) preferred;
Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
Ability to work under limited supervision
Have good experience on JMeter and XML
Ability to interpret data provided by tools like AppD and Jabex while analysing performance results
