The Consultant Role
The Consultant functions in :
Communicates the business value of planned technology uses and deployments.Contributes to, and delivers against, a Work Breakdown Structure.
Learns and make us of modern technologies, services or approaches based on business demands and industry trends.Participates and contributes to internal / external community events.
Engages in mentor / mentee relationships to enhance Microsoft’s professional / technical capabilities.
Responsibilities
Consultants should be able to :
Participates in meetings with customers / partners to understand their business needs and / or scenario they are trying to solve.
Uses technology knowledge to define customer / partner requirements and constraints, with direction / guidance. Engages others appropriately to understand and define customer requirements.
Supports project planning by understanding and documenting the risks and dependencies with direction / guidance. Develops test specifications and operations guides with direction / guidance.
Manages their schedule and communicates to project leads. Delivers against Work Breakdown Structure (WBS). Implements technical solutions by completing assigned project tasks with defined quality standards and following Microsoft Services processes.
Identifies issues and risks and engages with customers / partners or internal stakeholders Project Managers) as appropriate to address and resolve issues.
Seeks to understand relationships with customers / partners / stakeholders and contribute to the drivers of satisfaction, dissatisfaction, and the root cause.
Communicates areas that need refreshing or gaps in intellectual property. Contributes to intellectual property development with guidance / supervision.
Provides feedback for continuous improvement.
Shares experiences, best practices, and product news within the team. Participates in relevant technical communities at Microsoft.
Required skills
Required Experience
The successful candidate will have a BE / BTech degree, or equivalent. Atleast 2 years of relevant work experience, with 2+ large scale enterprise projects, global solutions in multiple industries.
Successful candidate will have relevant analysis, design, development and implementation experience in solutions around Education, Healthcare, Telecom, Retail etc.
Experience working in a Services organization in a consulting capacity is strongly preferred. Experience working on multi-phase global implementations is preferred.
