Business Applications Practice

The Business Applications Practice within Industry Solutions helps customers maximize their investment in Microsoft Dynamics 365 solutions and the full portfolio of Microsoft Products through accelerated implementation and adoption.

    The Consultant Role

    The Consultant functions in :

  • Technical DeliveryParticipates and leads gathering of customer requirements and constraints.Participates in project planning and contributes to risks, issues, assumptions and dependencies.
  • Communicates the business value of planned technology uses and deployments.Contributes to, and delivers against, a Work Breakdown Structure.

  • Intellectual Property and ReadinessMakes use of, and maintains, Microsoft’s Intellectual Property; creates new materials when needed.
  • Learns and make us of modern technologies, services or approaches based on business demands and industry trends.Participates and contributes to internal / external community events.

    Engages in mentor / mentee relationships to enhance Microsoft’s professional / technical capabilities.


    Consultants should be able to :

  • Engage with the Customer and the Account / Bid Team in a professional manner. Use their technical knowledge and experience to position best practice use of Microsoft’s offerings.
  • Pre-Sales Support Participates in the pre-sale process as needed. Helps scope the project by sharing customer or technical knowledge.
  • Technical Delivery Follows capacity process outlined by Global Capacity Management team. Maintains tools with up-to-date skills and availability.
  • Participates in meetings with customers / partners to understand their business needs and / or scenario they are trying to solve.

    Uses technology knowledge to define customer / partner requirements and constraints, with direction / guidance. Engages others appropriately to understand and define customer requirements.

    Supports project planning by understanding and documenting the risks and dependencies with direction / guidance. Develops test specifications and operations guides with direction / guidance.

    Manages their schedule and communicates to project leads. Delivers against Work Breakdown Structure (WBS). Implements technical solutions by completing assigned project tasks with defined quality standards and following Microsoft Services processes.

    Identifies issues and risks and engages with customers / partners or internal stakeholders Project Managers) as appropriate to address and resolve issues.

    Seeks to understand relationships with customers / partners / stakeholders and contribute to the drivers of satisfaction, dissatisfaction, and the root cause.

  • Intellectual Property Management Develops knowledge in intellectual property (IP) and leverages IP to complete assigned project tasks.
  • Communicates areas that need refreshing or gaps in intellectual property. Contributes to intellectual property development with guidance / supervision.

    Provides feedback for continuous improvement.

  • Business Development Identifies opportunities to expand or accelerate the adoption and consumption of the cloud and Microsoft technologies.
  • Readiness Learns new technologies or services based on business demands and industry trends. Obtains relevant accreditations and certification(s) as advised by domain leadership team.
  • Shares experiences, best practices, and product news within the team. Participates in relevant technical communities at Microsoft.

  • Operational Excellence Completes operational tasks and readiness, and ensures timeliness and accuracy. Follows Microsoft policies, compliance, and procedures Enterprise Services Authorization Policy, Standards of Business Conduct, labor logging, expenses, travel guidelines).

  • Required skills

  • Ability to apply advanced analysis skills in principals of the Dynamics 365 Customer Engagement Solution to provide detailed, reliable solutions and estimates for service implementation.
  • Up-to-date and in-depth experience with implementations of large CRM solutions, such as Microsoft’s Dynamics 365 CE and / or competitive CRM solutions such as SalesForce, SAP or Oracle.
  • Understanding of competitive technology to accurately assess feasibility of migrating customer solutions from, and / or integrating with customer solutions hosted on non-Microsoft platforms.
  • Advanced business knowledge in Customer Relationship Management, Marketing, and / or Field Services, and relevant fields within one or more industries.
  • Knowledge in Cloud environments (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS) with relative experience in Microsoft Azure, Amazon Web Services or similar.
  • Provide quality oversight throughout the entire project lifecycle.
  • Ability to thrive under pressure and demonstrate proficient management skills.
  • Deliver effective strategic presentations to audiences of varied sizes and possess excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • A sincere passion for the customer, which is demonstrated through professionalisms and striving for excellence in all aspects of the customer experience.
  • Extensive, relevant work experience including expertise in enterprise architecture and business solutions deployment.
  • Flexible with travel.
  • Required Experience

    The successful candidate will have a BE / BTech degree, or equivalent. Atleast 2 years of relevant work experience, with 2+ large scale enterprise projects, global solutions in multiple industries.

    Successful candidate will have relevant analysis, design, development and implementation experience in solutions around Education, Healthcare, Telecom, Retail etc.

    Experience working in a Services organization in a consulting capacity is strongly preferred. Experience working on multi-phase global implementations is preferred.
