The role is responsible for positioning and selling VMware vision for Enterprise IT & Telco, products and solutions across five technology solutions platforms of App modernization, hybrid & multicloud, virtual cloud networking, digital workspace & security.

Role also requires to provide technology sales support for VMware telco customer in India to sell VMware Telco cloud, virtualization products across Core, Edge, RAN.

Role needs to frontend and drive all technical requirements and position VMware solutions , drive POCs along with Sales account manager and collaborate with specialist teams like telco BU and others to drive large pipeline for VMware .

Should be driven to a common goal of growing revenue and projects related to Network Function Virtualization (NFV), Telco Cloud and Software Defined Data-Centres (SDDC), especially where converged architectures are required.

The role responsibility spans for large telco for all its operations across globe.

Responsibilities :

  • Assist to prospect for and develop IT and Telco Cloud related opportunities, including converged Telco Cloud / IT opportunities.
  • Position VMware Telco Cloud solutions across 4G & 5G Core, Edge, RAN and private communications with customers’ CTO and technical management
  • Understand the customers’ specific challenges when it comes to virtualization / containerization, the competitive environment and the overall vendor ecosystem
  • Organize and coordinate PoCs with the customers and the relevant VMware teams when required
  • Support and help coordinate high quality answers to Telco Cloud RFx.
  • Build strong relationships with specialists, Bus & R&D teams in a matrixed environment to position VMware strategic value to an operator’s CTO organization
  • Work with the Telco ecosystem to enable their local technical teams on VMware solutions, understand how their solutions can be best integrated with VMware solutions and partner with them when possible / required on customer engagements
  • Participate to Industry events and conferences as needed
  • Drive specific initiatives to support VMware Telco business in the assigned region
  • Drive virtualization / containerization adoption and identify new opportunities in named Telco account.
  • Partner with the various teams of the Telco and Edge Cloud Business Unit to get required enablement and provide feedbacks from customers and partners
  • Independently conduct and manage conversations and relationships with our Telco customers and drive relationships.
  • Experience Required :

  • Knowledgeble in virtualization, containerization,Kubernetes, private cloud , hybrid cloud, software defined networking & security, HCI, SDWAN, Security technologies like EDR, NGAV, end point management like virtual desktop, mobile device and app management etc.
  • Deep dive skills in atleast 3 of above technologies is a must.
  • Knowledgeable in 3G / 4G and 5G Radio network architecture and ecosystem
  • Detailed understanding of 3GPP packet core domain and specifications as related to 4G EPC and 5G core.
  • Knowledgeable in Radio Access Network (RAN) design and RAN virtualization
  • Strong technical knowledge of 3GPP specifications as related to CU and DU and RRU protocol interfaces
  • RAN Technologies (vRAN, Small Cells, MIMO, Timing and Sync with GPS, IEEE 1588v2)
  • Knowledge of O-RAN specifications and O-RAN Components (O-RU, O-DU, O-CU-CP, O-CU-UP)
  • TIP / OpenRAN projects, and / or ONF SD-RAN.
  • Mobile Private LTE, Small Cell, and Wi-Fi Industry experience
  • Experience Required :
  • Multiple years of experience in the Telecommunication industry, especially with operators' CTO organization
  • Detailed understanding of 3GPP packet core domain and specifications as related to 4G EPC and 5G core
  • Detailed understanding of virtualization and Cloud Native technologies
  • Good understanding of Management and Orchestration (e.g., MANO), Network Management, OSS / BSS, and TM Forum standards
  • Experience of selling NFV / Telco Cloud is desirable
  • Hands-on knowledge of Kubernetes (K8s) and Cloud Native applications is desirable
  • vRAN / ORAN experience is a plus
  • Proven experience selling complex technical solutions into Telecommunications service providers
  • Experience coordinating matrixed v-teams of professionals in technical sales campaigns that include sales executives, field SE's, Professional Services, Support, etc.
  • Proven track record of success selling in a highly competitive environment
  • Proven consultative selling skills including outstanding communication and presentation skills
  • Education / Experience :

  • BE / BTech degree or higher, or equivalent job related experience
  • Travel :

  • Open to travel.
  • Compensation : At VMware, your On-Target Earnings are real, not virtual. We offer a competitive base salary plus commission that is tied directly to your quota attainment.
