The Role

The Business Development Associate (Sustainable Building Technologies) is responsible for achieving sales and revenue goals for an assigned customer segment by developing, building and strengthening long term relationships with customer and vendors.

The position will involve business development and deal making skills including strategic consulting and needs assessment, identifying and driving new business opportunities, pricing and contract negotiations and working with internal IES VE experts to propose solutions to prospective clients.

This position reports directly to the Associate Director India.

  • To form and build relationships with our existing clients and sell the benefits of our unique range of products and services.
  • To support branding and business development in new domains or markets.
  • Attend industry functions such as conferences and provide feedback on market trends.
  • Identify opportunities for campaigns, resellers / other channels that can lead to increased sales or a more efficient sales process
  • Work with technical staff and other internal colleagues to meet customer needs.
  • Territory : North India (Rajasthan, MP, Chhattisgarh, Odisha and above) and countries Pakistan, Nepal, Bhutan & Bangladesh.
  • Travel will be based on market demand, business plan, events, etc. Minimum travel would be one working week per quarter but might increase based on need.
  • Skills, Knowledge and Experience

    Essential skills :

  • Overall at least 2-3 years of work experience in sales.
  • A degree in mechanical engineering.
  • Software sales experience with software such as Ansys, Autodesk, SolidWorks or similar.
  • Outstanding influencing and relationship building skills.
  • Professional presentation skills.
  • A proactive attitude and ability to work independently.
  • Desirable skills :

  • Master’s Degree (MBA).
  • Experience in training business development or conducting training.
  • Knowledge of the IES Virtual Environment (VE) software.
  • Experience of using a CRM system like SalesForce.
  • Awareness of voluntary building / environmental rating schemes such as USGBC LEED, GRIHA or IFC Edge.
  • Knowledge of the sustainable building design process.
  • Awareness of building energy regulations.
