about the role
The Unified communications STM is an empowered project management role with full end-to-end responsibility to deliver and control result, time, budget and quality for all Unified Communications projects.
Depending on the project scope and size the role of the STM can be to lead a single large project or numbers of smaller projects and to take responsibility for the achievement of the agreed goals and objectives.
The UC STM can be accountable for managing all functions acting in the delivery chain or be part of a larger project management organization with actions limited to a specific perimeter within the project.
This perimeter is defined on case by case for big projects (regional Medium & high complex complex deals). A complex project can require different UC STMs, per product or per region.
The UC STM is involved early enough in the process to attend the internal Service Transition kick-off meeting organized by the Pre-
sales team and the customer kick-off meeting, to explain his role in the project, set properly the target delivery dates and deliverables.
Depending on the product and project, as soon as the orders are signed, the UC STM is accountable for :
ESC / SEC for messaging; ESC implementation experts for all products)
requesting to technical experts the configuration of infrastructure Data centers for Messaging core services, platforms and equipments for Voice, Video and B2Gaas services
supervising the internal Service Acceptance Test session
being the point of contact for customer during his own User Acceptance Tests; organizing tests with customer for Voice, Video and B2Gaas products.
handing over to operations, with support of Hand over Manager for Messaging, B2Gaas & Video product
handing over to customer for Voice, Video and B2Gaas services.
communicating the progress and status of project towards the customer or via the CSO PM if a CSO PM is present
The UC STM working on Voice, Video and B2Gaas projects, is managing the Gold orders associated to the service to be delivered and billed.
For voice products, the UC STM can provision himself the Hookah platform for more efficiency in the delivery.
