  • The team works closely with CIOs, CTOs, CDOs and their Technology Functions, to ensure business continuity is delivered throughout the transaction;
  • and value and technology and digital effectiveness is maximised post-deal.

    Our team has a wide mix of prior experience, ranging from individuals who have previously worked in industry or private equity running and driving change in Technology Functions, to prior industry CIOs of global businesses, digital start-ups, software development, technology consulting and M&A advisory practices.

    Due to continued success and increased demand for our services, we are seeking to expand our team in India with high calibre appointments who will operate as an extension of the UK team supporting the UK Technology M&A business .

    About the role

    We are looking to recruit a team member who can draw upon their previous consulting or in-house experience to bring high-quality advice and support for our clients.

    Ideally you will have experience of M&A and / or technology transformational projects, and an understanding of how technology impacts the business and deal.

    You will work on a range of projects across different business sectors, whilst also focusing on the full breadth of Technology and Digital review responsibilities including technology applications, infrastructure, organisation and increasingly reviews of the software industry, product management and linkages between revenue growth (including sales & marketing), technology processes, operations, and reporting.

    You will draw on your previous client / industry experience and knowledge to advise CIOs, CTOs, CDOs and their Technology Functions on key decision making and mitigation of risks throughout the deal.

    The work involved can be complex and part of a fast-paced environment, therefore the role will require the ability to quickly understand, analyse and provide trusted opinions on the key issues and opportunities facing the Technology Function.

    The role will require regular interaction with CXOs and private equity / M&A leaders. As such, you will be expected to work with the UK team, take active and lead role on engagements and management of projects within 6-12 months of joining the team and contribute to the success of the project and deal delivery.

    Beyond project work, the role also involves driving business development and internal initiatives, to grow and develop the ways we can help our team and our routes to market.

    You will utilise your experiences to develop creative and efficient ways to support our clients in the deals environment.

    You’ll work as part of a team of problem solvers that work across regions with extensive consulting and industry experience, helping our clients solve their complex business issues.

    No two days are the same, you will assist in the management of a portfolio of clients and be a part of business development.

    Whilst you will be primarily India based, our clients and projects are global in nature. Your personal needs will be taken into consideration and coupled with a range of working environments spanning the office, and flexible working.

    As a Deals Technology team member in our Deals Technology team your impact will be seen by :

  • Pre-deal value creation advice how will technology impact value for our client in this deal?
  • Buy and sell side IT due diligence what is the target’s IT operating model and spend? Is the target’s technology landscape fit for purpose and able to support future growth?
  • What could be improved to unlock further value for our client?

  • Synergy assessment and planning what IT cost synergies / dis-synergies are available and how do we plan to capture them?
  • Carve out and divestment support what does the IT landscape look like when we carve it out from the parent? How do we transition from the current IT operating model to a standalone or integrated model?
  • How do we support the business during this transition without impacting operations?

  • Day 1 to Day 100 how do we safely take control of the technology environment whilst managing risk in the first 100 days?
  • Integration and optimisation what is the right level of technology integration to optimise the business and grow value?
  • How do we implement sustainable cost savings? How do we run the integration program?

    About you

    You will have 1-3 years’ experience in some aspect of technology / technology consulting. In addition to Excel and PowerPoint skills, you will have broader understanding of key aspects of an IT environment (e.

    g. IT applications, IT organisation and IT infrastructure) and P&L (profit and loss) statement of a business. You will be skilled in developing and nurturing relationships, be able to understand business considerations, work with high-performing teams, meet tight delivery deadlines, have proficient oral and written communication skills in English.

    Desirable skills and experience

    You will have a number of the following skills and experience :

  • 1-3 years experience of technology, digital advisory roles gained in consulting firms, IT / Tech roles in industry, software business, or experience in an in-house technology consulting role;
  • Exposure to one or some of the IT areas covering technology landscape design, IT strategy definition, IT Target operating model / IT organisation, IT architecture, IT processes or service management framework, and product / software delivery;
  • Understanding of business financials;
  • Have a desire to constantly learn of best-in-class Tech / IT strategies, both cutting-edge and pragmatic Tech / Software products, services, platforms and their likely impact on business-critical aspects of performance;
  • Possess excellent communication skills and particularly have the ability to produce high-quality written reports and present to senior stakeholders with concise headline messages;
  • Excellent Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint skills (incl. Macro building); and
  • Previous experience in Mergers & Acquisitions in deals is desirable but not essential.

    Qualifications / Education

  • B.E. or B.Tech Computer Science (Mandatory)
  • MBA (preferred)
  • Certification in Cloud Technologies such as MS Azure or AWS (preferred)
